Yes, according to some journos and supporters, it seems every player we've traded or delisted recently has been treated poorly...

Wonder if other clubs get this reaction to their trades and delistings?
There are multiple ways to look at it. Clearly everything isn't running nicely as they would expect (maybe now it is?)

Few ways to look at Dahls exit. If it's financial and contract length then I don't blame him at all. Why couldn't the dogs get him to play the same form the team did in 2016?

I love how every player that leaves us we apparently don’t want lol

We dare I ust throwing premiership players out the door we are going that well.

As long as we keep signing DEPTH players it’s all good we can all relax and be comfortable we are miles off so no pressure.

If Adams wants out we should be turning our attention to Steven May. Not sure what we can offer?? Would need to be a combination of things one would think.

As i said last week. We are still right into gaff.

From what I understand, May to Pies is a certainty.

Gresham or Coffield would be worth getting.

Coffield has signed until 2021, but Gresham comes out of contract in 2019.

I would assume if any of those three really push for a move they will sack Richo. I’m fact I have no idea how he is holding on

Would it not be better GC holds him for another year as their compensation pick maybe better next year than what the pies can do this year?

Stand to be corrected, my knowledge all things draft, compensation etc is not great

They may not have identified a suitable replacement. That's about the only reason I can think of.

Did you just do it again?!

What a nuffie. Sorry I give up...

1. Is Tyson Stengle any good?

2. If we get him, can we please just call him Tyson Stenglein and be done with it?

Cheers
he is a quicker mitch honeychurch

172cm and 73kgs, even Bevo wouldn't stick him in the ruck.

Rookied last year so he'd be cheap as chips I imagine and seems to be arguably the best VFL small forward so certainly fills a need.

Never really seen but his stats are reasonable in VFL.

32 goals from 18 games in the VFL this year as a small forward - also averaged 4 tackles. In best on 5 occasions, including 2 BOGs. Most goals on 6 occasions. In 2017 he kicked 33 from 19 games.

Could be worth a punt

If the Adams and WCE have mutual interest and want to get a deal done, there are a few interesting players we might be able to pry loose,

1. Liam Duggan - HBF / Mid, good skills 184 cms, 22 years old. Former Doggies fan I believe and Western Jets boy.
2. Tom Cole - Back / Maybe future mid, good skills and decent overhead. 186 cms and has had a very nice year for the Eagles. Some rumours during the year linking him to the Dogs/ 21 years old.
3. Eric Mackenzie / Will Schofield. Has always been some whispers of both leaving but have stayed with the Eagles so far. Both talented backs who could be decent depth if we lose Adams and Fletch doesn't want to stay on (will need depth). Both experienced with good size and different strengths.

Not saying it would be a straight swap for Adams, and not out of contract, but some decent options we might be able to get to commit to us coming back in an Adams trade.

That......is not a wrap.

Pass.

I'm not so sure. Honey is very much an almost there player. Hard at it and gets plenty of opportunity on goal. Just can't kick straight.
If this kid is a quicker version of him, and looking at his goal kicking stats, appears to be able to kick them, he could easily fill the small forward role that needs filling.

This is just based on a couple of posts on here though, so for all I know he could be trash.

I have already quoted my source (the official AFL Record for Season 2018 p387) and here's further evidence as you seem reluctant to believe I would actually check my facts:
View attachment 555021

I note that Doggies7 kindly provided his sources (one of them a Nathan Schnook item on the official AFL news website) which contradicts the above. So one of those "official" sources has obviously got it wrong ... although it scarcely matters which, as the deal was still a good one for us, either way. The main point to note was that we both checked our facts back to what are usually trustworthy sources.

What was disappointing was that you were quite happy to rush to judgement and accuse me of "making stuff up". That says a lot more about you than it does about me.

Especially after these recent posts:

So what was your source that he was a free agent and basically playing reserves there, Ernie? Or were you just making stuff up?
I started mine with ? Then apologised for being wrong

You still believe you are right. I’ll admit you didn’t make it up, someone else did, you just believed it.

William had 1 year at Lions, 3 senior games. Not sure why he was cut. Is still just 20 yo

Attitude issues. Didn't work hard, was out late and was playing up when there for in house meetings.

We would know from our VFL team IF that is still an issue. Hope that is all behind him and that we draft him.

The north win was a good one.
It definitely was.
I can understand your frustration at getting rid of Dahl. I think it is a fine line that we are walking. We clearly have great young talent, I think that is undeniable. Our <25 list is very good and is filling out in a variety of positions.

The worry is that we won't have enough older players to support the youth of the list as they develop. Maybe we are trying to bring in free agents and re-sign players that are in that age bracket and are also good teachers, influences and leaders (Morris, Trengove, Picken seeming to be going around again, rumoured interest in Hawthorn Roughy).
It seems to me that players in that age bracket must either be a need for the list (hence interest in Lloyd) or be a good influence on the young list.

What are people’s thoughts on our immediate needs? For mine all we need is a burst mid and a marking forward until Boyd and Schache mature.

There are a lot of really average player’s names being thrown up who, frankly, wouldn’t add anything to the list IMO.

If a player becomes available who is patently better than a player we have in the team already, terrific, go get them. But picking up players like Lloyd who simply aren’t an upgrade on who we have, I don’t understand.

We have depth. It’s mainly young. Give them the time they need to develop. Accept we’ll be around 6-10 next year. But also accept that this list has so much promise.

It just needs time.

I would have preferred to keep Luke. But $550 is a lot for a player like him. Especially for a player we can cover.

I didn't say that at all, but there you go again rushing to an accusation. I'm more inclined to believe the Schnook report TBH but I think you can see that both sources are from the AFL (one of them being its official yearbook) and they contradict each other so the AFL has clearly got one of them wrong. I really don't care which one, because the deal was a good one for us, as Crozier's excellent 2018 season has underlined.

I can't see what's wrong with simply pointing out to someone that what they've said is wrong and that their memory might be faulty or they might be misinformed. Why make the instant leap to them having "made it up"? It's just trouble making.

Nice wriggling on the "?" and the apology after you were called out, but you've already shown your colours. Try checking your facts in future.

Feel free to a further right of reply, but that's it from me. Squabbles like this are a bad look on BF so I'm not keen to prolong them.
I just needed to correct the record in the face of a couple of false and manifestly unwarranted accusations.

Who do you think we should target? Do we go after Gaff? Do we take Jarryd Roughead for a year or two? Is there anyone from left field we should have a crack at?

Agree with the need for a burst midfielder, but think that Greene has shown enough to be a leading mark type forward.
I think that we clearly need a small, quick forward who can crumb and has a natural goal sense. Think of the depth on our list. It is midfielders like Jong, Honeychurch or defenders like Fletch and Young. I don't see that depth in the forward line which is why I can support getting Lloyd for cheap or Stengle if he is that player. It won't make a massive difference to our list, but will provide us with more options.
