Australia v India, 3rd Test at the MCG Dec 26-30

You've made your position clear.

Mitch bowls because of his height, if he was shorter he probably wouldn't play international cricket.
That's nonsense, absolute drivel. He bowls because he's a below-average medium pacer masquerading as a seamer that takes a wicket every 20 overs. It wouldn't matter if he was 6'7 or 5'7. Shami picked up 6 wickets with an inspired spell last match and is 5'8.

Just face it, Mitchell Marsh is a bloody poor test cricketer. The only reason he gets a gig is because of his potential, nothing more, nothing less. He's the quintessential perfect net player.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and they are never taking away the MCG Test, because at least Melburnians turn up to games.

No matter how poorly their teams are doing in footy, they still turn up. The rest of the country is a joke in comparison.

Reckon WA fans have a fair claim to being the most consistent in that regard. Even when our teams are doing poorly crowd sizes are still around 75% of the membership numbers - with 40k members Freo's lowest crowd average of the last 15 years was 31,400.

Vic clubs regularly don't even get 50% of their membership showing up to games.

You aren't interested in actually talking about this.

You need to open your eyes and look at the Australian pace bowling line up, notice a pattern? They are all tall because Australian cricket values that extra bounce with the pace.

That's all it is. When there is a choice between two bowlers they pick the tall one unless the shorter one has a history of performance at the top level like Ryan Harris. We have a lot of players sitting around six foot who arguably do more with the ball, don't get picked.

I lied..... which is the TRUTH .
Bancroft hasn’t done anyone any favours. Including himself.
I can see how he is an easy target to bully and Warner took full advantage. Bancroft would’ve felt guilty for letting the TEAM down if he DIDNT do it.
Amazingly poor all round.
I wanted a positive interview not one that exposes a weak man and bullies.

The only problem I have with it, is him doing the voice over, making him look like a self righteous jackass, and the script talking about "Taking responsibility", when Smith quite literally took every opportunity he had to lie and obfuscate what took place both externally and internally at the time.

They would be better off focusing on moving forward, don't dredge it up trying to win the public back over. That will come quickly with runs on the field.

And he's getting paid good money for this advertisement I assume.

He got caught doing something shitty and was appropriately punished. Once he has completed his punishment he's allowed to play cricket again but that doesnt entitle him to some sort of redemption story arc, although it seems quite clear thats what the halfwits in the media are shaping up for.

Seven crossing to the Sydney to Hobart. BOOOOOO!!!!
I'm not a fan of watching snobs with a lot of money dominating the race every year with their expensive and extremely large yachts.

Harder for the interstate members to rock up to home games.

Yep. He's thrown Warner under the bus a few times now
Its right though. Warner is the mastermind of it. Bancroft did what any new person does in any job, trying to fit in Smith was an idiot for not stopping it.

Let me get this straight: there are people who are defending the MCG wicket purely because they were born/raised in Victoria?

They don't get money from the MCG, they don't even get free tickets. But they defend the pitch because... why?

How hopeless and incapable of critical thought does a person have to be, to defend a pitch because 'I'm a Victorian'?

Good grief.

Could be worse, could be claiming Mitch Marsh is a test cricketer just because he comes from your state!!!

You remember Shane Warne got done for taking performance enhancing drugs and lying about it?
Did he make an inspirational comeback after breaking down in 'tears'?

People actually fell for this. People are stupid.

and people think cricket is an elitist sport.
You think a super-maxi that is built for nothing other than racing and costs $30,000,000 is elitist?

I agree. That's gold throne territory. Riding a crawling body builder on a hunt for quail.

Haven't seen it yet, but going off the comments it sounds like he probably isn't saying anything that isn't true, but at the same time this is the sort of interview that should be saved for after retirement, rather than when you might have to play in the same side as the bloke you're talking about.

Maybe there isn't a positive spin to it. A known jerk who bullied a new guy into cheating because he didn't have the guts to say no, and a weak captain who did nothing about it.

I could see Smith and Bancroft being accepted again after some time but Warner absolutely should not be near the Australian team again. Just look how arrogantly he has handled himself at the lower level.
