Hi chadsb, welcome on board!!!!Hi everyone, I don't follow the vfl much, what are some of the expectations of these 2?
Plug gaps if needed, help the development in the VFL if not needed.Hi everyone, I don't follow the vfl much, what are some of the expectations of these 2?
Diesel was also one of the 14 fastest dual brownlow medallists.“Slowest” dual brownlow medalist in history
Cottrell is probably a likely project type, probably a good option for a wing or half back role with his running ability.
Gibbons I can see potentially playing early. A genuine forward/mid option like fisher. It could be an interesting forward line with Gibbons, Fisher, Polson and potentially Fasolo as well teaming up with McKay, Curnow and McGovern. There's some real zip there.
Henceforth I shall call you Mick-Matt.
An improved fitness base will also help his disposal efficiency. On Gibbons stats, hopefully his disposal efficiency improves with less attention. Would have been no.1 target for attention at Willi

I'm rapt with his signing.....not only could he really make it at AFL level, but his presence at VFL will be invaluable to the our young mids in their development. Look what he did with Willi....An improved fitness base will also help his disposal efficiency.
He has been working as a carpet layer, while also studying at uni & then fitting in training. The opportunity to focus on footy for the last couple of months has already led to an improvement in his fitness. Imagine what he can achieve now he is on an AFL list.
Bloody brilliant....who's the kid on the left though?
Welcome on board Matty C.....now, go and watch a highlights package of your lookalike Mitch Robinson, take on his aggression along with your football prowess, and you'll do us all proud...especially JaB![]()
Was a player sitting out with hammy heavily iced at Maroochydore, didn't recognise, so I am guessing it was Owies, might be a little while. The CFC would have known Gibbons history, ability to improve his stamina....but still took Bugg ahead of him and then opted to leave one list spot vacant.
It may yet be another case of getting lucky by being unlucky but it's clear that Gibbons wasn't high on our agenda.
Maybe our outlook wasn't particularly favourable early on and that's completely changed, or maybe our options were simply limited.
As long as he plays his role then all good but maybe we're expecting just a little too much of him
Cottrell and Owies will make for an interesting watch in the VFL.
Cottrell probably on wing and Owies.....Wonder where he'll play.
Umm nice try - Ashman is about 40 years older than him!So Gibbo's biggest impediment why he hadn't been recruited previously being his height? hmmmmmmmm........
We can only dream....

round 1 or i will tap dance naked down oxford street.Even if Gibbons doesn't play a lot of AFL football this year (I think he will) our VFL midfield players will develop so much better for players like Cuningham, Stocker and even Jack Silvagni. O'Rourke will only help this point too.
