Without Bews and Tuohy I think there’s a very good chance both O’Connor and Zuthrie play.

Just don’t see the need for Miers and Atkins when we have so many small forward options.

We already have enough defenders not to need both MOC and Zuth. The way to beat Collingwood is lock it in our front half their fwds are quick and will trouble us on the spread but if we force them to kick it long slow and high we will eat that up. Thats why id go the extra defensive forward over another defender.

Enough defenders, yes. But enough defenders of the right kind to combat Collingwood’s small forwards? We will see.

I assumed that to be the case. But if they play all of Taylor, Henderson, Blicavs and Kolo in the back six then it seems they've learnt sfa from last year. Particularly against a Pies forward line with only one true tall.

Given how underwhelming he was in the JLT, I would have thought debuting Fort as KPF/second ruck at the 'G in a massive game against the Pies is likely to be memorable for only one reason.

Surely he is well behind the Q9, Abbott, Hendo and the Buzz (in that order) to fill in for Esava, should he not come up.

Fort is not even in the mix from the VFL practice match Abbott is a long way in front of him if your considering playing two rucks.

I realise fort can play forward but surely before being capped you need some reasonable form behind you in either JLT or match sim neither of which has occurred.

Out of all the hyped players this pre-season constable, Clark, Miers, Atkins all showed plenty.

I like this Max.

I think you just go a bit more versatile round 1 with Henry at CHF. And you probably play Gary Rohan out of full forward a bit when Hawkins gets further up the ground. Rotate Dangerfield, Parfitt, Ablett as your deeper options throughout the day.

I don't like bringing buzza or fort in on a like for like basis.

Prediction: Thursday melts over the selection (especially defence). A close game Friday night with us running away from them in the second half.

Interesting which way they go later in the season with Harry Taylor and lachie Henderson.

You really have to end up just going with one coming off 8 and 6 games respectively last year. When 2e and bews are available I don't see how it's possible to play Blicavs, Taylor, Henderson, Kolo, Stewart consistently in the back half but who knows I suppose they might try and find a way

I really want to see our game plan.
I really want to see Clark, Constable, Atkins, Dahlhaus, Rohan in the hoops for the first time.
I really want to see our forward line function
I really want to see Gaj compliment that function.
I really want to see Selwood and Danger playing more on the outside
I really want to see Parfitt, Kelly and Constable in the middle
I really want to see Harry back to his best
I really want to see Stanley using the extra space with his speed
I really want to see Blitz, Stewart, Taylor, Clark, Hendo and O'Connor rule the backline
I really want to see Duncan, Parfitt, Constable, Atkins, Clark (and Cockatoo in the future) show that they will transition our midfield into the future.
Mostly I really want to see us beat the Pies to kick off a tough start to this season.
