This was it for me today, the biggest take away from the match. The amount of times we waited for someone else to do it was ...frustrating. Tex talked about us making sure our intensity was right up there and too often we were the spectator at the coal face

The game I watched, out forward entries was the main issue with the game full stop.

that isn't entirely outclassed, our issues where seemingly complete self inflicted.

Our defence played well, our mids were good, our forward structure was an abomination.

If you watched the game and then looked at the state, the forward 50 effectiveness would confirm exactly what we saw at the match.

Hawthorn lets us self implode and did a great job making us pay for out stupidity.

I'm surprisingly calm after such a crap performance.

In life when you do the same thing over and over again you will get the same result - its not a surprise.

We persist with the same midfield coaches, coaching the same patterns to the same players who we keep selecting - of course we will get the same results.

Staggering that this rookie head coach is heading down the same path as our last 3 rookie head coaches using the same selection principles and the same mid/ruck assistants.

The problem was, we were trying hard but we shit our pants underpressure..... almost across the board.

Yes. Port were fantastic away and we were terrible at home, as I had feared between the matches.

The effort was there; bullshit to those who said we didn't turn up. However, our skills were non-existent, following on from my assessment of JLT2. This match reminded me so much of GF2017: we just got ground down mercilessly as the game went on. This time, however, we took the opportunity to pass it straight to the oppo as many times as possible. I had to laugh at the commentators who couldn't understand during the match how we had so many more possessions than the oppo, yet they had kicked a bigger score: that's not difficult if we kick it to them all the time!

As in GF2017, we were so bad overall that picking on individual players is ridiculous. We either need a team transplant or a skills transplant.

Our coaches, execs et al have so much to answer for.

We’ve established a culture right throughout our organisation of taking on and keeping blokes who ‘aren’t quite good enough but they’ll do’

It exists with our coaching panel, it exists with our off field ex player appointments and it most definitely exists through our playing list.

Through continual selection of blokes that fail to get the job done when the heat is on and who shit their pants at critical moments we’ve actually embedded a culture of shitness into the whole club and need a mini rebuild if we want to achieve anything.

Not only that but the inability to analyse, review, prepare and work through the same treatment that Clarkson dishes us up every. Single. Game. Is enough for even the most ardent supporter to microwave their membership.

So glad I didn’t buy into any of the bullshit around the club this pre-season because if you think this coaching staff and playing list has the testicular fortitude to deliver when the heat goes up to that next level then you’ve got another thing coming.

I get that outsiders and the feel good brigade will come in here and say ‘it’s round one, you don’t deserve to follow this club, stop being so negative and support our boys’ but give me f*cking strength. This club is the embodiment of a broken record.

You can just about pick the losses on paper before the season starts.

We’ll roll Sydney next week and all will be forgiven - but that’s only because their age profile is like a geriatric nursing home.

You can't blame the club for hanging on to average players....as we keep losing elite talent to other clubs....they dont want to play for us !!!!
As for the coaches....they probably dont want to be in Adelaide either.
Its just our supporters that cant seem to understand this.

Not being inane just backing in my team to respond. I'm reasonably sure we are better than that for today.
If in a few games the same rubbish is being played i be right with you. i'm just not one to burn a team on one game. Have been there and been involved in games that my team should have never have lost and also played in games that we should never have won. Sport is a funny game at time.

People need to relax it’s round 1!! Crows have a shite record against the hawks. Since going to Adelaide Oval they have beaten them once or something like that.

Kick outs were ordinary should went with the short kick style at times instead of playing on and kicking long. Also they were too static which effected every forward. The glowing concern is Jenkins is lack of work rate and is often rewarded with easy goals!
