I like your confidence. Too early in the season and far to much unknown about both teams. I thought their forward line was good last week, we would want to be switched on from the bounce to account for them today.

We'll win if we score more than them. I think this is a grossly underused strategy. However it was the secret to our success in the eighties and I think it should be brought back.

I've written to Clarko, and laid out a strategic plan. I've included tables, with what the opposition score, matched with what we'd need to score to win. It's pretty complicated, but as an example, if the Bulldogs score 73, we'd need to score 74 or greater to win. The most remarkable thing about this is the formula doesn't include the opposition team name, which means the theory works regardless of the nature of the opposing team. In other words, this works for any team.

Of course it won’t turn out quite that simple, but I’m confident of a good win.

As much as I enjoy melts - I more enjoy our best players going into beast mode. That's what I want.

The game being at the MCG should help us. We play it so well and enjoy the width and space it provides. With some blustery winds around the goals that the young Bulldogs forwards aren't that used to (at least compared to our own) we should be able to outscore them even if we don't win the midfield battle.

As long as our team hasn't got ahead of themselves after last weeks great win we should be fine.

With Melbourne and Sydney faltering, Richmond finally having some injuries and after today, GWS looking decidedly run of the mill, we will look in very good shape with Chad to come in to the line up.
