So we get hanners and carlisle? Who cares what sort of person they are. Got to trust the club to work it out.

His social life made those two look like choir boys. His injuries put lots of clubs off enquiring as well. I can't believe anyone would think our club was capable of complicated player management off field.

I certainly think we are capable. also I also I think Hanners has a fair social life. By the way who have we failed with to suggest we are incapable. Must be obvious by your comments but im struggling to think of many.

I don't want to name names but you know some. Gram the most public of them.

Grammy had a public problem with drugs and nightlife? Didn't know that but even if true was that with anyone even slightly to do with the current administration?

I honestly think we are as capable as any club in looking after any player.

Marshall complained of a sore ankle, the medicos had a look at him, he took some time off on the bench, it felt better, he was able to come back on and he didn't complain about it from then on.
Had a big limp going after the final siren.

There's a very good reason his old man is a 1 year new job kinda guy, and it doesn't have to do with what he's capable of, it has to do with the vacuum that is inside his head.

Apple don't fall far from tree with that fam in my experience, I am glad that boy is not the club I support same as I was glad when his old man got the arse.

Something that hasn't been mentioned about the game but made Billings performance even more impressive for me is that he appeared to be physically targeted by Essendon from the first bounce. Heppell was getting stuck into him before the bounce and throughout the game, many players were going out of their way to give him a whack for the whole game. Yet JB didnt let it affect him and was one of the best on.
Hope he remembers that when they come for him later in the year if he hasn't re-signed!

Ok. Not sure what that means but if we are recruiting footballers because they aren’t brain surgeons then we have some issues. Most likely would have precluded a lot of ex saint stars

Just watched the last quarter again. Scoreboard flattered the Bombers as their last two goals were complete crap. One an incredibly soft freekick to Heppell, then the umpire missed McKernan taking Brown's head off. Didn't matter in the end I guess.

They were also junktime ones. Their only two for the quarter and they were in the last 2.5 mins, after we'd gotten out to a 4 goal lead in time-on.

They came to life after the big scuffle that ensued after Kent's goal that put us up 43-10 (about 12 mins in to the 2nd quarter), and from that point on it was a genuine contest for the next two quarters almost, but at the ground I started to feel pretty comfortable at about the 15 min mark of the last, as I felt like Essendon had run out of steam, and probably fired their best shot.

All the energy and dare they were playing with in the 3rd quarter in particular was just not there any more.

As happens so often to teams who fall well behind, but then mount a comeback, they probably used up all their petrol just getting back close.
