This might be something from left field. But we need to go back to the beginning.

Lets get this man. Now.

Unless we do something about the coaching staff, I can see a lot of players getting fed up, both our young guns who are starved for no good reason in the 2s and established good players who actually want a shot at a flag with a decent side.

Realistically our 2017 gameplan got found out and stopped. We used injuries as an excuse in 2018 but lo and behold we come back and get stopped with a very close to best 22.

When will Pyke and co wake the **** up and realise our 2017 gameplan belongs exactly there?

The blessing of 2-1 is that you can actually realise this and develop a better plan. One that can take shape over the next 10-12 weeks before we click as a unit and have an unstoppable run to thr flag.

It's far better to have a slump in the front half than the back half of the season. But only if we learn from it and change.

What will actually happen?

We will win the next 4 games on the trot against shit teams, go 5-2 and everyone will be loving life at the Crows. Then we have our tough as **** middle 8 games and lose 6 of them to go 7-8.

Then we have another run of 4 shit teams and because Pyke is desperate to keep his job he will stick with the same shit because its too late to experiment . We go 12-8

Then we win 1 of our last 3.

Yay. 13-10 season. We scrape into 8th thanks purely to the draw.

We get belted by 10 goals in the elim. Fagan gets on the emails and tells us all that the season didnt go to plan but we will be back stronger than ever.

Boys club goes round again the next year.

**** off.

Why the **** don't Pyke and co understand that you can drop a player to the 2s To get form? Drop Eddie and JJ and let them kick a bag then bring them back. Shit drives more shit. Break the ****ing cycle.

Don Pyke, Senior Coach - gone
Scott Camporeale, Senior Assistant Coach/Game Strategy - gone
Ben Hart, Assistant Coach (Forwards) - gone
Marty Mattner, Assistant Coach (Defence) - stay
Michael Godden, Assistant Coach (Midfield) - stay
Matthew Clarke, Assistant Coach (Ruck) - stay
Heath Younie, SANFL Senior Coach and Development Manager - stay
Brent Reilly, Defensive Development Coach - stay
Paul Thomas, Midfield Development Coach - stay
Matthew Wright, Forwards Development Coach - stay

I don't see the SANFL coaches enough, so it's harder to make a call

Clarke ordinarily I'd have fired but he did very well with the AFLW so maybe he's being hamstrung

Watched the game from up high in the members stand tonight. Some serious questions need to be asked of the coaching group in the first half in particular. So many issues, but the main one is simply the Cats had an additional player behind the ball completely free and blocking our attacks at every stoppage. What's more they outnumbered us when going into their own attack - as in they were man-on-man entering their forward half, PLUS they had another guy sneak up there unmanned. Despite this they somehow also had better spread/break from the middle and had 100% more runners going forward and back always 5m+ infront of our boys lagging behind.

Intensity/fitness aside how they managed to generate a spare man in defence AND attack for an entire half is disgusting; plus they monstered us in the middle despite the fact they should've been outmanned.

I have a feeling we have players sitting wide on the wings x2 and this is where Geelong sacrificed position in order to utilise the corridor + if we ever won it we would have to go wide to not be outnumbered.

Was really really disappointing to watch.

3rd quarter we magically fixed the issue and it was just poor skills and effort and not necessary glaring structural issues that killed us from there on out.

That Jenkins handball over the sideline was 100% not his fault btw. We were completely outnumbered 2:1 infront of him with 0 runners. He had literally 0 options except for lynch to handball receive and lynch refused to run for him.
Kick it backwards then. Not hard.

Lets be honest. It's just not the coaches that need to go, it's s club clean out from top first.
Gone:
Chapman
Riccuito
Burton
Reid

Pyke
Campo
Hart

Kelly
Betts
Walker
Atkins
Mackay
Douglas
Otten
Jacob's
Lynch

Who will get it done? One Malcolm Blight. Head of football. Get it ****ing done.

Crisp.

This post deserves its own thread.

I’m almost speechless about the phenomenon that is Rob Chapman. Almost.

This bloke has been the chairman for, how long, 11, 12 years now? The club has no silverware for the entire time he’s been chairman. He has overseen Tippett-gate, Rendell-gate and camp-gate, among other things.

There is no election on his position. There is no term limit on his position. If you’re a paying member of this football club, just let that sink in.

Kim Jong-un has absolutely nothing on Rob Chapman.

Rocket18 Endorses this statement.

C'mon boys get on board, I've been banging this drum for 6 years.

He is THE problem, it all starts with this man.

There's going to be an increase of "sack ____" avatars in the coming weeks/months.

the issue with Pyke is that his philosophy is built on continuity and this then surfaces in his safe decision making both within his football dept and at the selection table

Campo and Hart should have been moved on in recent years and team selection is always safe

Thank God you're back. I missed your ability to drop truth bombs.

In all my time, I've written one email to the club about selection - when Mackay was dropped for form, didn't play, and then was picked the next week.

We backed in the team and it didn't perform.

I will write another this week if this is not rectified at selection.

Campanology

The art of hearing bells as you speak

" oh again we had enough possessions and we got close but in the end we just weren't good enough with our finishing, we will back the guys in and work on our skills at training ""

I bet this gets trotted out and ding ding we have a winner

Ben Hart up forward has killed us.

Unsure about anyone else but this is the one area that has drastically gone backwards since 2017.

It has, but it's also the area in which the players have gone backwards. 3 of the 6 are past their best, Lynch is hovering and we aren't playing the guys we brought into the club to fix it.

I don't think Hart is the right man, but his hands have been tied.

They must have gotten a lot that week, I even got to chat to Fagan.

but his hands have been tied.

Well thank God this is all no one's fault, and the selection committee, whoever the **** it is, are the ones pulling the strings

I think we should be able to get ourselves into the position to pay any tax on football department spend, but I don't know if that triggers other things, like you can afford this, then you also pay these other equalisation costs...

Where I believe we go very wrong for a club of our size is all of these untried, unproven risks as assistants and other footy department roles as well.

We seem to have this belief that what we are doing is already great, we just need to work harder together and all will be alright. Except it rarely is.

This is why we keep bringing in guys who have done nothing much elsewhere, risks poor clubs should be taking before we poach the best of the best.

We get them in to play a small role in our system. We don't bring in guys with personality, differences, confidence to push their tried and successful methods from the successful clubs.

We bring in people who are grateful for the opportunity, who can learn how to fit into our systems and plans, the same stuff we've probably been passing down since the Craig error, and it's not just x is coaching the forwards, they suck and so blame that coach and it ends there, this is our talent as a coaching group forming the WHOLE game plan. Where are the guys who have been there (the top), seen everything, done it successfully and can instil some confidence into the playing group

Why can't we attract quality? is it the pay? Adelaide the city? or because they know their personalities, experience and differences will be squashed so that they can play a minor and unfulfilling role in a mid-table club.

Maybe we put the challenge out there, we are planning to turn over the list, we want to do this, this and this, and we want you to put your stamp all over it and we can attract some better talent.

Or do we not even consider people like this because the people doing the looking (and their mates) might be the ones to lose out when the shake up happens.

Not what I said at all. You can keep the same structure of 2 talls, a hybrid tall and 3 smaller guys. The issue is most of them are in horrid form and the ball coming into them is just as bad.

The blame falls on feet of all involved.
