So it seems we'll get a look at a Roughead, Gunston, Bruest and Wingard forward set up this weekend for the first time.

Shiels said it last year, he spends more time on the table than the trackMost of you don't know that Mitchell last season after many games would hardly train because he was battered and bruised from the week. How many games did he miss? The club has experience with players that are sore and how much time it will take them to recover. Players that don't look like taking their place in the team earlier in the week recover and play. Its why there is so much emphasis on recovery. If you get carried away by the status of players earlier in the week at least a 1/3rd of the team wouldn't play.
Chill guys

That’s all well and good, but our midfield is pretty shaky, so getting the ball to the forwards will be a big challenge. So it seems we'll get a look at a Roughead, Gunston, Bruest and Wingard forward set up this weekend for the first time.
Jaeger gets chipped a 30 meter pass, chest height. He waits, flat footed. A late spoiler arrives. Has anyone else noticed this, ten times in the last 12 months?
Please Jaeger, run to meet the pass.

You mention those names, argh I wish Rioli was still out there playing as he and Wingard would’ve been a dynamic small forward duo.

Correct you are, not the only villain in the team with regard to this, Mitchell pre break, Morrison, Howe are all pretty handy at prop and wait. Gotta get it before you can turn and go. They have turn and go on the mind before the get.Jaeger gets chipped a 30 meter pass, chest height. He waits, flat footed. A late spoiler arrives. Apparently soon after trading for Wingard he tried to coax Cyril out of retirement. A Cyril return would be like when Michael Jordan came out of retirement![]()

I sincerely hope that any possible Cyril return goes extremely better than what MJ's return did, he was a shadow of his former self.
It was a little sad watching to be honest.

Tops made a very good point regarding Brad's distaste for all things Hawthorn, here was just another weekly example.Sometimes they predict a ladder, then stubbornly predict individual games to fit that narrative, despite evidence and form to the contrary.
Brad said as much himself
JOM a real 50-50 apparently. Would be the worst midfield to ever run out if he misses.
Still staggered we didn’t take an extra mid with that pick. We’ve got nothing in reserve.

We live in the day and age of fake news unfortunately
