They look completely baseless to me.

Anyone saying Sansa is thick looks like they've watched it with out much going on upstairs while it's playing.
LittleFinger thought Sansa was thick................

It’s quite the opposite actually. The show runners have done a good job on making it spear like she’s smart but it takes someone who actually pays attention to her actions and thinks about it’s effect to realise she’s not. It looks like you only have a surface level understanding.

You still haven’t backed up your “Jon would have cocked it up” statement btw.

Does anybody realise that Sam is the new Lord Tarly? And not some book clerk? Or does membership in the Nights Watch exclude him (not that Jon took any notice)
Jon’s death ended his watch but really oaths are just words. They’re only meaningful when people want them to be.

Oh please Sansa I love you please

Thats LittleFinger still thinking she is thick and easy to manipulate
That’s Littlefinger making a last ditch effort to stay alive.

That's him realising all his scheming and kniving have come to nothing. He's been outplayed by the Starks and Sansa was not the person he thought she was.

If he thought Sansa would be ok with him arresting her dad then he’s idiot.

Did he think he was walking in to that hall to die or to see Arya get sorted out?

I'd say he got played.

Stuck with him to save her own ass at times. Took his army when needed and now has the loyalty of Royce and the Vale and pulls the rug from under him just as he thinks his scheming is about to mount to something.
Its not clever to simply not be utterly moronic and give away her plan to kill him.

Was it? Looks like it ensures that the Vale is now back to being a more stable blood tied ally to the Starks than under LF
The deception was unnecessary. All she needed to do was arrest Littlefinger have him tried and excecuted. But the writers needed some drama and wanted to make Sansa appear smarter.

Assuming they would ignore Tommen’s decree, what would have stopped him from stalling through demanding a trial by combat or the trial process itself?

The best way to handle it was the way they did it. Have Bran catch him off guard and have Arya execute him on the spot. Perhaps not entirely necessary, but probably the safest way to do it.

It's called Game of Thrones. The whole premice of the show is that nothing happens easily and every move to be made isn't a simplistic solution or action as you seem to think it should be.

They didn't write the show to be enjoyed by dummies.
