Just got back from open training. Willo looking fantastic out there, running and bouncing right through the guts and then cracking with that left peg.

Looks full of confidence and really seemed to be enjoying himself. Cannot wait until he's in the mix.
awesome to hear :thumbsu:

Thanks for the feedback MM. This news I'm sure would bring joy to all the Carlton faithful. It has brightened my day. If he gets through this week unscathed. I would love him to slot straight in.

Plowman Weitering Thomas
Newman Jones Marchbank

Walsh Dow O’Brien

Fisher McGovern SPS
JSOS McKay Curnow

Kruezer Cripps Dow

Kennedy Curnow Simpson Stocker

In: Kreuzer, Stocker, Kennedy, JSOS
Out: Lobbe, Casboult, Gibbons, Setterfield

we don’t actually use our small forwards effectively so I don’t see the point in trying to keep players like gibbons, Polson or Fasolo in that role. We need to evolve the game to suit our players. Tall marking targets. Outside won’t score 100 might not even score 80. But we sure will be marking one on one rather than sitting balls on gibbons’ head.

In we really need another small then we can chuck gibbons back in or even Polson but leave O’Brien in the VFL for a week more weeks. He’s truly struggling at the moment. Dow (despite his issues) is still going for those kicks and has blown straight past him.

G'day Blues :)

Just dropped in to say I've tipped yas every round so far this year and I've gone in again this week, by 1 point.

If you lose, you can all blame me. Stiff last week I thought - if only McGovern hadda....oh well, nm, not his fault.

Hang tough guys - hope you get the 4 points soon.

Here's one for y'all...

Had a look at my predicted/preferred changes for this game and then comparing the team to the one from round 5 last year, then trying to best match the individuals:

Kreuzer/Phillips
Weitering/Rowe
Marchbank/O'Shea
Newman/Mullett
McGovern/Casboult
Murphy/Wright
Walsh/Kerridge
Kennedy/Lamb
Stocker/Garlett

Feels pretty good, especially with Cuningham, Williamson, Setterfield, Lang, Fasolo, Macreadie all additional potential ins over the coming weeks.

Wowsers. I'd take the IN over the OUT in EVERY example*

* Except Stocker and that's only at this point because of inexperience.

Did you notice if Cuningham was training?

Hmmm, interesting that the Club Instagram would post a training photo of a ‘VFL’ player on a Thursday afternoon...

Good observation. Makes little sense to highlight Stocker on Instagram, if something wasn't up.
May then be safe to then say that Cuningham isn't good to go, even though he wasn't mentioned on the injury report.

Still hard to make sense as to which way we'll go this week -

OUT: Setterfield, Lobbe & Casboult______ Gibbons & O'Brien may also be in the firing line, but no-one to bring in for them
IN: Kreuzer, JSilvagni & Stocker________ Just don't think we'd bring in both Stocker & Kennedy.

We sure could do with the likes of Cuningham, Williamson & Pickett right now.

Well, I suppose if you assume the replacements are:

Kreuzer > Lobbe
Silvagni > Casboult

Then you could justify:

Kennedy > Setterfield
Stocker > O'Brien

Lose a little bit of overlap run in O'Brien, but bring in a dual-sided, line-breaking HB/mid.
Add some more productivity to the on-ball brigade with Kennedy and Kreuzer over their counterparts.
And replace a towering link-man (cause he wasn't hitting the scoreboard) in Levi with a mid/fwd utility.

If we wanted to swing the four changes, I think it can be done.

Now that’s what I like to hear, and exactly what we need him to do when he gets back, fingers crossed he has a good one for Northern this week and straight back in after that.
