What an overwhelming response, you've changed my mind with that argument.

It's clear we went in too tall last week.
Not clear at all, if our disposal was at the level of this week we would have smashed Gold Coast, this was the problem not the 4 talls, and Jack and Charlie are the same height in fact I think Jack might have him covered, so other than Polson for Setterfield we are not much shorter this week and the Dogs are much shorter and quicker than Gold Coast.
Seriously don’t know how people can run with that argument after this weeks game.

Not sure rob but gee he looks leaner. Great game yesterday.

I think we can rely on him more as second ruck/resting forward then when we had to rely on him as kpf. For starters he will be playing on defenders ranked lower as best gorilla defender goes to Harry and best running defender goes to Charlie.
Kind of the Leigh Brown role. Ruckman are more and more important under the new rules. Chop out ruckmen who can kick a goal or two a game will be valuable.

Eh? Disagree really. Think she's not so good at understanding football but has a nose (well used to) for 'dirt' and would gleefully put her nose in everyone's baggage looking for ways to bring them down. Think she's realistically a very poor football journalist, used to be a good investigative journalist but clearly enjoyed bringing people down way too much, evidenced by all those burnt bridges between her and her sources, who seem to have all deserted her.

On, THE MONEY!!!!

Well done to all involved in that passage...all the basics done right.
But hats off to Samo who nailed the two most important plays. First the clearance handball out to a free player over the top of the pack to start the passage. Then keeps making his way down the ground to receive the handball from Gibbons, then sums up the field in a split second and nails a left foot kick with precision to JSOS.
The other part of Samos game that hasn’t been highlighted was his defensive running, many times was the first one back to help out or was the one chasing defensively, while apparently he had 0 tackles 😜 his overall game was probably the most balanced of anyone on the ground, this was probably the most pleasing thing for me.

Cripps was pretty handball happy yesterday,

Reckon the coaches instructed him to focus on bringing his teammates into the game a bit rather than try win it himself?
You could definitely be on to something there CL. Not sure if you’ve seen it, but in the post-game presser, while talking about leadership during a challenging week after the heartbreak of the GC loss, Bolts actually said that Crippa had a put a lot effort into getting the best out of his fellow mids. Bolts went on to say that Crippa would probably be more happy with the other mids’ games than with his own ... which is saying something, considering that he accumulated 37 possessions, and was clearly in the top 3 players on the ground!

More broadly, Crippa seems to be one of those players who if anything gets better with the role and responsibility of the captaincy, which is a great thing for us moving forward.

Love seeing so many posts after a match and they are positive! I'm only halfway through the thread but here's some thoughts from me that absolutely nobody demanded:

- We controlled the ball beautifully and in stark contrast to the week before. Bolts has talked about how 'coachable' this group is before and this is a great example; a complete 180 on the ball control from last game. We selected a tall team again, but this time it worked because we played to our strength (height). This is something that is often overlooked - playing the game style to suit your team is far more important that getting some arbitrary 'team balance' right. The balance is relative to your game plan. We got that balance right.

- Tackling pressure was good in our F50. Could probably lift a little more around the ground, but the low numbers might be explained by the above team selection point.

- We used the middle of the park when it was on and did it pretty well. Sexy.

- Listened to Bevo's post-game presser and I liked hearing him praise the way our defenders play as a unit. Seems they are demanding respect from opposition coaches and teams. Excellent.

- Good to see some love for the Plow. He hasn't deserved the criticism this year. After round 3 he was rated the 7th best general defender in the comp.

- Loved Walsh's celebratory "V" for Vanilla sign at the end :)

- Polson didn't get much of it but the pressure was there. His shepherd set up Gibbons' first goal. Gotta lift or risk being dropped for Cunners.

- LOB had a down game but never stops trying. I think he will get there but it will just be a slower burn. I reckon he will be a lot like Isaac Smith who was drafted later than usual. Except now we have him in our system for a few years before he is ready to go bang.

The big question is whether this is a turning point or a flash in the pan. Can't wait to find out :)

Dow certainly reached the “passmark”. Haha🤣[emoji38]

On Dow yeah last week he ran forward and slewd kicks to the right but the irony was that yesterday his first few kicks ,and a a few after that , he had to deliberately slew to the right , checkside , to hit a target or put it to advantage which he did. Omg he is a beaut burst player from the centre .

How long until Cuningham back ?
Unfortunately, with Cunners suffering from a bruised kidney, it seems that your perfectly reasonable question ends up being akin to “how long is a piece of string?”. In other words, I think it’s a “watch and wait” situation, but hopefully he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Don’t pull out the misogyny card - male, female, intersex, androgynous I’ll call out slime wherever it presents itself, and Caroline Wilson is a prime purveyor of it.

Slime? Wilson is out of her depth talking onfield football matters. That's not her strength and when she strays outside her field of expertise (that's debatable) she often flounders.
Same goes for all. She should know better than that, but sometimes one just can't help themselves.
Wonder what Judd may say. Yiu know that smirk is on its way.

Shout out to Daisy Thomas btw. The passion he plays with has been evident for a while now, but after seeing those images of him when we lost last week and then the joy of this win, he's become Carlton through and through. No longer a guy we got from the Pies in my eyes.
Spot on again Shan your on fire.

Her back pedal on 3AW earlier today was the slime.

Yeah with H and gov forward , don’t mind Charlie up the ground then drifting forward . On Caz I love him up the ground contested marks and he’s a good field kick , or in the goal square . Or Caz on the 50 .[emoji5]. I love this rookie guy .
