We need imo, to neuter religious organisations in Australia. Flik it off in a meaningful way and send it to behind closed doors. Stop treating it like it's special, it's not it's poison.
Growing up Shell, I was told by my parents that we dont discuss religion or politics outside the family. Now I know why.. there are a lot of hateful people (on both sides of the fence) that don’t have the mental capacity to deal with different opinions and choices
Religion and politics should be a private matter and a personal choice

Statistically, New Zealanders are more likely to be killed by Australians than Muslims.
So should New Zealand ban Australians from immigrating to New Zealand?
Likewise Australians are more likely to be killed by Australians. So should Australian ban Australians from immigrating to Australia?
Congratulations for having the most idiotic post in this thread. You’ve really outdone the other LWNJ’s.

If Australians are more likely to be killed by kiwis than Muslims then yes Australia should stop kiwis immigrating to Australia

Ok, I'll bite. I'm 50 years old, in that time, how many Kiwis have been MURDERED by Australians in Australia?

You obviously have the figures at hand.
http://www.crimestats.aic.gov.au/NHMP/1_trends/#incidentsJurisdiction

There is 650,000 kiwis here

Very rough estimate on latest figures is 1 in 100000. Given 40% are domestic, 35% aquaintence and there is a big skew towards the smaller states and nearly all kiwis live on the Eastern seaboard. I am going to guess 4 a year.

I don't read The Guardian, or very, very seldom do. What was their take on Folau's, Instagram post? Did they give it a like? Were they protective towards Israel in how they reported on it?

Just curious.

Dunno. I don't read the Guardian much either. Quick search finds this article defending him (https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...isks-galvanising-pasifika-around-israel-folau) and this one from a Christian which is pretty measured (https://www.theguardian.com/sport/b...-folau-lifestyle-choice-rugby-union-ugo-monye) and this one condemning the ARU for not terminating his contract last year (https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...au-a-slow-moving-tragedy-a-year-in-the-making). A pretty good coverage across the gamut of opinions I would have thought.

We should start by removing the tax-free havens that they enjoy.

Actually it will. If people of the Muslim faith had never been allowed to immigrate to this country then none of the attacks to date would have happened and we wouldn't be in fear of more attacks happening.
That's right mate. Fear them. Never leave your house again.

How did it come to pass that Christians became a public enemy in Australia?
Dunno. Mabye the decades of raping children? Or the tens of millions of dollars (earned through government tax exemptions no less) being spent on trying to cover it up and silence the victims instead of supporting them? Then there are all those nuffies hanging outside abortion clinics abusing women, or prominent easter worshipers like Tony Abbott being unrepentant ****-heads... or maybe it's all the usual vitriol, xenophobia, bigotry and stupidity we're accustomed to seeing from religious conservatives?

(Could also be that we're not living in the stone age anymore and religion simply doesn't have a place in a modern, civilised society)

Could be any number of reasons my friend!

hahahaha

yeah, sending organisations that may be a threat underground would totally stop terrorism from happening

Replace the bold with Dunno. Maybe the decades of blowing people up. That's not okay but neither are your words. How do you have so little self-perception?

While the rest of your post is just "I don't like them," this part of your argument is a bit more interesting. Because a small percentage people in authority in particular churches have been found guilty of a heinous crime (either directly or in covering it up from authorities), all Christians are guilty? Government institutions were found to have a similarly poor record over the same timeframe, does that mean we should hate all public school teachers as well? Or even anyone that goes or has gone to a public school, or has been in state adoption services?

Actually it will. If people of the Muslim faith had never been allowed to immigrate to this country then none of the attacks to date would have happened and we wouldn't be in fear of more attacks happening.
Using that logic, we shouldn't of accepted Catholics, because it would've prevented the Fenian terrorists from sailing out to Fremantle to commit a jailbreak. It would've prevented the thwarted Irish Brotherhood terrorist plot during World War 1, and would've prevented the thwarted IRA attempted bombings in Sydney during 1970 & 1972, and would've prevented the IRA from raising donations at meetings in Melbourne. And it would've prevented the Croation bombings of the Yugoslav consulate in Melbourne and the Croation terrorist training camp in Victoria. Needless to say we could've prevented a lot of organised crime by the Mafia, and the kiddy fiddling by Priests, if only we refused to let Catholics in and deported those convicts when their sentences were up eh?
I never realised before, that xenophobia was the only surefire way to protect our public safety.
Only problem, is that this logic doesn't explain the Neo Nazi murders that have occurred in Australia. Wayne Smith, Daniel English, David Locke, Alan Taylor etc, or the fact that ANM were blowing up Chinese restaurants without any Asian terrorists existing, nor that Combat 18 were shooting up a Mosque in Perth before Islamic State ever existed.
Hmmm, I think you're logic has some flaws. The vast majority of immigrants aren't terrorists. Unless you've got a phobia to spaghetti, or kebabs I think immigrants tend to add to our well being, more than any have detracted from it.

Apologies for the digression from the subject of this thread. Now back to discussion of the events in Sri Lanka and the tracking down of the culprits.

Its ok to imply all Christians are rapists but it is not okay to imply that all Muslims are terrorists. Its so typical of the SJW

The post I quoted asked why Australia has turned on Christianity.

I don't recall DECADES of people blowing themselves up in Australia.

In fact, I don't recall that at all.

You're either lying or stupid.

We're not debating whether or not all Christians are guilty.

The question posed was "why don't people like Christians". I gave a number of reasons. You've chosen to ignore some of them and that's fine.

You've also chosen to LIE about how many people in authority for one particular church was found guilty.

A Church-commissioned report in 2004 said more than 4,000 US Roman Catholic priests had faced sexual abuse allegations in the last 50 years, in cases involving more than 10,000 children in the US alone.

FYI disingenuous to call Pell a "person in authority"... he was right on top of the chain buddy!

Government institutions were found to have a similarly poor record over the same timeframe...
I thought you were better than this. What sort of shitty strawman argument is this?

Its ok to imply all Christians are rapists but it is not okay to imply that all Muslims are terrorists.
Someone gets it, thank you!
