Coupla tidbits I've heard from a contact:

We are keen on Papley and he is keen on us, deal likely gets done

Roos has said he will come to Carlton if Michael Voss is made coach, hence the interest all of a sudden. He's less warm on Teague

Club doesn't think we're a chance at Coniglio and quite frankly isn't interested at the $$ being discussed

Sounds like this will be SOS's last trade/draft period. David Walls mooted as a possible replacement

Great news on Papley and i think we all knew Coniglio was unlikely.

Will be really sad and disappointed if SOS left though...with him in charge of our list management i feel safe knowing we're in good hands.
With Agresta being recently promoted to List Manager i wonder if we'll just let him take over? Or find a SOS replacement as GM.

Any word on why SOS is leaving? I do remember b70 saying he wasn't going anywhere although that was some time ago.

100%. Based on his Melbourne successor I'm also not convinced about his judgement on coaches either.

I know that this has been floating around as a rumour for a while, but I don't really understand it.

Walls is Fremantle's National Draft Manager.
I don't see how that necessarily qualifies him for General Manager of List Management And Strategy, above our List Manager Agresta?
Or why SOS' position, if he were to leave, would necessarily have to be replaced?

Voss’ presentation was very impressive and well-prepared, however the consensus among the panel was that he is not the right fit for our club

So the panel gets on the blower to blab the second an interviewee is out the door....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Whitfield the year after would be more in line with our needs. We’re going to have to replace Simmo and Daisy over the next few seasons, and he’s arguably the best half back/rotational midfielder in the league.

He’s also arguably a better player.

In a heartbeat, he's exactly what we need, he's a Rolls Royce ...
