One thing about Acres is he can break open play better than anyone in the team - by kick or handball , if only he could get hold of the ball more.Yep, he did two bad kicks, that were intercepted- no question about that- but the fact he went at 86% efficiency means he only had 1 other ineffective disposal for the game, which in our team is very very good going.
I've been very critical of Blake's kicking in the past, but for mine he's been one of few if anybody who's kicking has clearly improved in our team this year.
For weeks earlier in the year he hardly missed a target by foot and was also one of few I was confident would actually spot a target inside 50 and hit them.
And this was reflected in his kicking efficiency numbers from the Footy Record after R14.
His 67% KE put him 7% above the AFL average for both "mids" and "forwards".
