Heard from a second (maybe third or fourth) hand source that Thomas confronted Bolton to express his disapproval of his ways.
It was inferred that he took the heat from Cripps and Docherty and took the punch in the mouth for the playing group.

It was also inferred that Bolton wasn't liked anywhere near as much by many, as was being portrayed.
He didn't lose all the players but it did come to a head when the players had their 'private' meeting.

Like I said, this is only the rumour I heard weeks ago and not calling it out as fact, but someone may verify.

Would also be good to hear from Barass as to who Judd wanted for the coaching job. We can talk about that now, cant we?

I don't think we'll get Grundy, and if it happened I'd have mixed feelings.

You cannot tie that much of the cap into a ruckman, IMO. Ruckman spend time off the park due to injury, and possessing a great ruckman forces you to change your structures from an if they win to when, which means you're stuffed if they start to lose.

I'm hoping that TDK is getting a lot of advice from Kreuzer in how to turn into an extra mid after the ruck contest is finished with. Kreuzer adds much more than being a ruckman to the side.

I don't think its just about the money (although it helps). Every Aspiring footballer dreams about playing in front of large crowd, the sensation the get when the crowd erupts in a loud roar and doing something spectacular or special on the big Stage.

GWS home games would be like Local league DIV 1 Crowds. you dont go through all of the hard yard to get to the big league and feel you are still at a local game. Coniglio will get paid somewhere between what we feel his worth to our team is and what his manager is demanding. I am sure Coniglio wants to play for one of the Big 4 and showcase his talents to more of the masses.

Don't disagree at all but our Club seems to be a target for most journos & has been for years.

Haven't seen hardly any other Clubs put under the microscope and scrutinised as ours.

We are a big 4 Melbourne club who’ve also been terrible for these years - we have a target on our back. We also deserved it.

Richmond sucked for years and copped just as much shit as us. Melbourne suck this year and nobody cares. I’d rather be us

Hmm that makes me question Judd's judgement.

I'd rarely call something out as fact even if Judd himself told me....people lie.

The reason Judd apparently wanted Voss, is because he saw him as more of a leader and someone that would push the group harder.
It was also a concern that MLG found his way onto the panel as he'd only be supporting Judd.

That's why I sort of wanted to see Lloyd and Liddle at the press conference today.
Didn't Liddle look happy with Teague? Genuine warmth. MLG....not quite as much.

Again, only posting for verification and not stating this to be the fact.

The thing about great players is that (generally speaking) they're not good judges of... well... anything. They coast through life on the Halo Effect and only relate to their fellow Greats. Judd is this archetype personified.

It's not a coincidence that these players form the ranks of media 'experts' while the successful coaches are all hardass back pockets.
