He's just not that good. What immediate need do you see him filling and at the expense of who?

Maybe you're right, but I just don't see him as a need at all. One of those players that looks OK, and generally just does OK.
Nothing great....nothing poor. Just an MOR player for mine and being 'free' shouldn't make him immediately more appealing.

Reckon he fits the Saints and Demons better.

Setters will progress to an inside mid. After that, tell me who you think can play as a strong, quick, endurance, tall, wingman, that can play a role on HB, as well as HF

Tomlinson is best 22 ahead of Deluca, Marchbank, not to mention Thomas and a few others unless they take some massive strides

Given draft strength and where the dons are atm, surely they would push for papley + 23 rather than pick 8 + 23? Could see bombers pushing for 4 + 23 but that is neither here nor there - papley will contribute more to their team.

Ignoring papley atm, have to wonder what 8 + future 1st would nab us? Petracca? perhaps billings/cerra + change?

Look up Vic state record holders. 400m. Under 15.
I looked it up a few years ago because I follow the 400 closely as it's my old event. His time of 51.06 is a fair way off the state record of 49.11. I think he had some school sports records and I agree he has good straight line speed

If Essendon trade Daniher they would have to be the dumbest club in the AFL.

Not sure I agree. This list is average and they don’t have any picks. The purgatory of being a 7th-9th ranked side awaits unless they do something.

Fortune favours the brave. As someone pointed out, it’s been years since Joe put together an elite season (and stayed fit).

Sorry to bring up the drug cheats again - but them trading Daniher would open up a bunch of salary space - if they are courting the idea of letting him go .... they must be after someone else .... and you'd think they'd have to be looking at mids/wings .... while it might help us get Papley - potentially muddies the water for others - they were red hot on Martin last year, maybe Wines or B Crouch?

Their problem is other than Daniher they don’t really have any good KPP forwards amongst other needs.

Not sure where to post this.

Sat next to Diesel last night at The Champions of Carlton on the VIP table and thought to share some of the better conversations

Asked if Dow would make it as an A grader as he has been training with Dow one on one for a while now, he said Dow is still very immature in body and mind and his kicking will improve with time (was thrown in the deep end to much early), has no doubt Dow will be a very good long term player and has elite burst from packs.

Walsh, he said was the most impressive first year player he has ever seen in his time in football.

Ablett senior his best player.

The Dominator was so drunk at the end of the night I think he was starting to piss a few of the other players off.

Was a great night and been to a few now, but this one turned into an unscripted joke fess.

at risk of adding to EssenDONE discussion - well in the context of Daniher to Sydney making it easier to get Papley...

I reckon Daniher when fit is a gun -I say again when fit...11 games in 2 years isn't fit...He isn't going to pull 2 high first rounders....certainly NOT Sydney's pick#4...

IF Sydney want him AND Daniher wants to go THEN Essendon have the upper hand in bargaining
IF Sydney want him and he doesn't wan't to go - won't happen
IF EssenDONE want Daniher OUT and Sydney is Daniher's preference THEN Sydney get to state terms AND EssenDONE's bargaining leverage is diminished

I reckon Papley's trade cost to Carlton changes between each set of inputs

AND

I reckon this means that SOS actually has the upper hand in leverage on this trade - he knows if he walks - then chances are whole deal for all sides falls over.

...no wonder we are 'linked to Butler' and Betts and Grey as alternatives ....surprised we haven't heard of more forward names ...maybe we will.

James Stewart, Mitch Brown, maybe Cale Hooker.

It’s not shock and awe.

This is where our rebuild looks very well planned and thought out. Draft talls early and develop them whilst adding to the midfield.

A good midfield can prop a team up and win plenty of games but a good midfield along witb a good spine wins you flags. There's obviously the exception to this but the way we've gone about our list build is the way to go IMO. Just a shame we missed on some experienced mids along the way.
