Well said ferrisb.....I would go as far to say get rid of free agency altogether.....although the AFL say that they won't because of the PA.

We currently have a system that players can get traded to a club of their choice these days regardless if they're contracted or not, and a deal happens 99% of the time. Let the market sort itself out, without the AFL providing compensation through free agency.

That is how we how we help get equalisation across the board, where GCS would get 2 first round picks from the Tiggs for Lynch through a trade rather than 1 through compensation, and the Tiggs actually have to give something up to get an a-grader.

Yes, but you're too smart by half and are missing one key consideration - something that works easily, is transparent and consistent can't be manipulated by the AFL as needed.
