Reckon the AFL will be happy for the Suns to trade the future compo picks away - removes the need for them to actually review the compo in 12 months, and gives the Suns more immediate improvement to help get them off the bottom of the ladder.

I daresay we are keeping all our options open so we get solid acquisitions this trade period. We can't afford to miss out on Papley and Martin and exit the trade period solely with Betts and Butler.

Multiple deals all on the go. I'm confident Paps will get done tho IMHO.

Don't think our trades will get done overly quickly. I'm betting we will be waiting on getting picks back, picks which clubs may not have yet.

Like we will want to give 9 and get Papley but get a 2nd rounder back but were probably going to have to wait until Sydney get their trades done for guys like Jones and Daniher so they have a second rounder they are willing to give. Stuff like that.

Waiting is good, will mean we get more back and with our currency being tight (no 2nd round pick and a lot of players to do) we're going to have to scrounge hard to get as much back as possible. Especially if a big fish comes available and we want them and Martin and Papley.

I'm sure the main bones of the trades are worked out but clubs are waiting to see what their trading partners bring in before agreeing to trades.

Wouldn't want to miss getting a second rounder back from swans. Might have to wait until swans have a few of them before they do it.

I just did a quick number crunch and they effectively gave away a net value of Pick 7 in 2017, and Pick 15 in 2018. It's absolutely shambolic. And now they want to try and stare us down over Jack f'n Martin?
