Bluemour Melting Pot XXI - Like seriously, the polar ice caps have got nothing on us

I agree 100% - what I’m saying is I don’t believe Essendon are asking for “fair” - they want clear overs.

If Essendon were asking this of us, I’d fold my hand and leave.

The question for us now is whether Papley really is linked to the Daniher trade...if Daniher falls through will Sydney hold onto Papley as well on still be willing to trade him?

Apparently he has genuine family reasons to come home...we've heard his GF lives in Melbourne, maybe also a sick family member? Not sure.

We could have well done with a quality player like Coniglio, but I see Papley being even more important to us.
With no senior mid coming on board the young guys have more responsibility and this isn't a bad thing at all.
Fisher, Setterfield and SPS have plenty of scope for improvement and then we should start seeing the 'real' Dow and all being well a much improved O'Brien......and then there's Walsh. Walsh.

I look forward to once again having fixed (relatively fixed) positions in teams, where forwards play forward, backs play back, wingers play on the wings.
I don't think this will happen until we get our 16 a team and less interchange, but another few years of boring games that may reduce eyes on the game, the AFL may be forced to make real changes. I still think it could happen.
Not sure I'm with you on the changes to the game, but otherwise spot on.

If there's going to be any changes, it's gonna be MULTIBALL first.

My coffee maker reckons a big, big fish is coming to Carlton! Surely he's in the know .... Right ?

Short white (Papley)
Piccolo (Eddie)
Cappucino (Martin) - hopefully he's cream on top and not just froth

These guys should fit in nicely around our Long (Harry) Mac

I'm sorry, I couldn't ristretto myself. Affogato how bad my puns are.

I'll show myself out....

Bloody complicated way to get Martin, Arr0w! Why not just do the Future 2nd? GC want a 2019 pick?

Great news.

GC want to move another pick into the top 10, everyone is happier
We then have more appropriate value for Papley

You saw what the Langdon deal looked like, effectively it was still a 2nd rounder

Look, Dodoro is a dick, no two ways about it. However he’s built his list to win now and so I can understand him demanding a return in the trade that helps Essendon win next year, ie follow his plan. Particularly when the picks on offer aren’t going to deliver a stand out tall prospect the club can sell to members.

Clearly Sydney have induced Daniher to break his contract (or attempt to at least), and so on that basis Dodoro sets the terms for the deal.

Sydney will have to go further on this one than Daniher’s form and durability appear to warrant.

Huge upgrade on the cheese puns, mate. Keep(cup) them coming. We may just have a trade latte on.

True - does seem that complicated pick swaps are the new black in 2019.
So what do we do with Pick 9 if we can't get Papley?

Anyone seen this year draft pool?
Reckon that's when SOS makes a move right up the order to get a real top player. Money on 9 not being in our hands either way come Wednesday eve.

There's a great gif for Dodoro to illustrate your point here, but I don't want to end up like KohPhi and miss the next three days.

It really seems like it will happen.

Been mentioned in this thread earlier but a Sydney ITK poster saying Papley has already moved all his stuff out of Sydney and 'hates' living there...it's not like Gibbs who was happy to stay if a deal didn't go through. Sounds like Papley would be pissed.

Only personal opinion but I think Sydney signing Lewis Taylor is the first indication Papley is about to leave. They’ll pay barely anything for him and get 9 for Papley in return. They either get a midfielder in the draft or use it for Daniher.

only part I care about is Papley gets to us with 9. Honestly don’t even care if we get anything back in that deal. That’s how confident I am in how much better Papley will make us next year.

Yep i think most of us are in agree that while something back would be nice to help us get Martin, we'd be perfectly happy with a pick 9 straight swap in a supposed weaker draft.

Cameron went for pick 12 with only 1 year left on his contract in a stronger draft...Adelaide got the highly rated Darcy Fogarty with pick 12.

9 this year is perfectly fine.

I was doing some Instagram stalking today.

Eddie Betts had has last stop on his book tour at Norwood arts centre. Which has been ongoing for the last 2 weeks. (Which is why I believe this wasn’t done last week, Carlton is going to want the feel good photo) He is obviously now available for a photo shoot & press conference at Princes Park.

Assuming he spent the night in Adelaide & he doesn’t want to rush in the morning (Tough with kids) and the AFL Virgin contract, I’m tipping a 130pm press conference and a lodgement just before that. That would mean the 935am out of Adelaide arriving at Tulla at 1125, then giving him a couple of hours before the announcement.

So every get ready around 130pm

Brezsa cracked it
