I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ollie Wines ends up at Hawthorn in a trademark Clarko Smash N Crab type recruiting heist. They have cap space opened up, the draft pick(s) assets required to satisfy Port, as well as the Chad Wingard connection.

The Hawks have been suspiciously quite in the trade period too far, if I had to make a guess, I would say Hawthorn would be more keen on Wines than us.

Phillips is 28 and has had 4 years behind Kreuzer, and apart from being injured, has had to battle for a spot against Levi and even Lobbe.

Tom DeKoning is improving rapidly now and Kreuz will be around for another 1-2 years yet, so at 28, he decides to explore his options for the last few years of his career to see if he can crack a bit more time as a No.1 ruckman, as clearly Kreuz will always be first choice here.
Rather than thank him for the decent service he's given and wish him luck, you'd rather sink the slipper in.

Like we couldn't make do with Kreuz, Levi and Harry in a pinch.

Phillips is a fringe player and in his exit/end of year interview was told that he was a top up player and needed to XYZ to make the team.

In all seriousness im sure we get papley but i hope essendon dont getbwhat they think 1 full season and 4 years of injuries is worth regardless of how mamy goals he kicked that one time. Hogan went for a lot but he can play most of a season without hurting himself like joe does with his big dopey strides

It’s not fair. He isn’t an important player for our list moving forward. So leave. That’s cool. We will find another player with a bigger appetite to perform to our standards and play a role we need them to play.

Plus no mention of the leg ups they received courtesy of AFL I.E. #1 pick for finishing bottom (surely against the point of the sanctions) plus free access to list their supplementary players (AMT, Brown etc).
