Sydney hold the whip hand in the Papley scenario, and IF the Daniher thing doesn't go through, then what would they prefer, another 1st round pick this year, or next year when they will have two expected top 10 kids to get via their academy?

It's certainly a possibility worth discussing whilst the Daniher thing remains in deadlock.

Thanks for your thoughts, but it's my opinion (and only an opinion) that because of that 'baggage' that I would be hesitant about either. I liked what Teague has said about family, and I suppose their is a great sense of support for one another among the playing group, and I know they are meant to be professionals who rise above personal stuff, but I am still unsure about either. Having said that, I have a lot more faith in support staff now than say maybe 5 years ago...

It depends on which quarter you listen to for information.

Some journalists are stating that the Papley deal will be completed in isolation, regardless of what happens with Joe.

Some think that Sydney won’t trade out a contracted player on principal if Essendon won’t relent on trading out their contracted player.

Im hoping/leaning towards the former.
