Why not target a Butler type? We haven't addressed our midfield needs or our small forward needs except a 33 year old. Ffs massive fail by the entire recruiting department

Why’s that a problem? Betts plays one year and we go in for Papley again next year.

Papley was never going to be the difference between finals or not next season. One year doesn’t hurt us much at all.

Silvagni's position is untenable. You can't go into a trade period with a definitive need and have 2 perfect players nominate you and then leave with nothing.

It wasn't that we FAILED to get Papley, Sydney did not want to trade a contracted player and once Essendon outright refused to negotiate for Daniher it was dead.

Hands are tied on that, we can still get Martin, he goes out of contract, Gold Coast shoot themselves in the foot as they get nothing in return.

I would like Carlton to never deal with Essendon again
