So you mean he couldn't have trumped another deal for another player, I dunno, say like another team did with Shiel?
In principle, Swans must have accepted if it was on the table for Daniher. We have made an assessment (after considering other options) that keeping #9 was preferred to anything else. I doubt that our list management sat around for the trade period waiting for a phone call from the Swans (or the Suns).
As for other targets. Who else wanted to come to Carlton?

What's this "hopefully" rubbish?
We're relying on hopefully now?
Listen to him on GueSEN and he said Wines names was never put on the table by Port or management officials. Lexically challenged by choice but, this will do me for evidence.I take it you wouldn't read SOS comments in the media today...

Exhibit A - B Ellis! Most of their list - it's pretty widely reported that they're "overpaying" just about all their players in an effort to keep them at the club.
Its tough to grasp apparently
Wasn't available for trade.............................
Do you know what the offer was? You think it was fair but not overs..........mmmm......... could have been either.Geeeeeeezzzzzzzz, that doesn’t mean 9 was offered on its own, does it?
Imo our offer for Papley was fair, but not overs, if we wanted him, I think we should have made a better offer earlier, to try force the Swans hand.
Instead SOS allowed his time to be wasted by the Bombers and thus missed out on all others that were available.
In the end, it didn't matter, which we weren't privy to. Much like 90% of the information out there, despite the best intentions of our valued ITK posters. Swans were never going to deal Papley without Daniher coming in. Harley made that clear first hand on GueSEN.In fairness, I haven’t read anywhere that we offered 9 on its own for Paps. Everything was with a second coming back. It’s entirely possible that SOS out a price and didn’t go above it.
I would be disappointed if we didn’t offer 9 on its own.
Lol.
Which player?
This line cracks me up, wasn’t available for trade, yet SOS spends 10 days trying to do the trade.
Being available if................ is different to being, not available.
Martin will be a Carlton player..Suns and Demons will not draft him in psd...FACT!!..
If we're going to massively front end a contract, I'd rather have had Brad Hill than Martin.
Butler played 7 games this year
Taylor played 5.
They are both nothing players.
Great news. Martin for free and a gun at pick 9. Good result!Martin will be a Carlton player..Suns and Demons will not draft him in psd...FACT!!..
With Betts playing Small Forward I reckon Gibbons could have a fair go at the other Wing as well.
Simple Jimmy, you don't have to believe it. I do.Not doubting your information, but I just find this one too hard to believe.
l love you, BarassMartin will be a Carlton player..Suns and Demons will not draft him in psd...FACT!!..
Would be an excellent result and there'd be a fair few BF goobers with egg on their faces after last night's tantrumsGreat news. Martin for free and a gun at pick 9. Good result!
Theres talk of his latest dramatic performance being oscar worthy....no, im not joking.OOHHHHHH......Adam Sandler in a DRAMA?NOW I get why people tell me to stick to the one-liners....

Clear indication that whatever we'd lined up for Papley was acceptable to them provided it would secure Daniher.
