Good evening folk of the SFA.....I have been seconded to analyse each team for Season 28 .....I did this under condition th Bombers would recieve special considerations, in the event we did anything wrong this season .....so I say thankyou Ant Bear , you're true to your word

Previous Seasons Assessment

Time for the Seasonal assessment of each team's posting performance. This is the 5th season that this has been conducted, using the same formula each season to assess the teams.

Data Collection
The data has been collected throughout the season, and compiled into a series of ranking tables, with a secret formula then applied to each table to calculate every teams score. When all teams are done (alphabetically), the final rankings will be released.

The most important promise of this research is that you can be assured it is Implicitly wihout social biases, due to the robust nature of the statistical analysis, which allows us to make statements off the strength of evidence, and modeling team predictions.

Summary
As the Bombers entered S28, Tony Lynn 15 and TheCoach16 entered their 2nd season, with a large culling of the list....6 departures off the list, including the popular VC Matty411 .....in addition TheCoach16 was largely unavailable for the season, only appearing R's 15 & 16
6 Rookies were brought in thru the season .....4 of whom received a Rising Star Nomination

Overall position though remained unchanged at #2 .....Total Posting was #1 ...and ave posters rocking up each week was 14, #2 in the league
The Bombers won all 16 match threads (#1) ...and had 13 posters ave above 5 posts per week, equal 2nd with the Mount Buller Demons.

The club is most pleased about the huge influx of Rookies and their adaption to the SFA ..... Requiem regarded highly by the recruiters, unfortunately had RL issues that prevented seeing him much this season ....but S29 !

Summary
Not a great year for the Coney Island Warriors ....they dropped overall position from 9th in S27 to 11th in S28
They did increase the overall poster contribution from 19 in S27 to 22 posters this season ....but had the worse ave number of active posters in the League, with only 7 posters ave over 5 posts per match for the season .....compare this to the Roys, who had 14 posters averaging over 5 posts
There were no trends, and as I've said, the Warriors did increase the number of poster involvement for the season ...just too many popping in for 1, 2, 3 posts per week & again a common theme, too much lft for too few
Total posts dropped from 9th in S27 ....to 12th last in S28 ....but in fairness th Warriors were missing their matriach in Wooshette for a lot of the season

They were last in ave poster involvement weekly with 10 v 11 last season ....the list engagement % increasing to 0.81% however the number is misleading, as it's offset by the lack of real engagement in match threads
Only 4 match threads won for the season ...worst post count weekly ave in the league ...the club has been quite happy to stick around this level of activity ... each club with it's own personality & positioning

Only BEEG and Square Peg provided new Warrior Blood .....is that enough, or must the club be more active in recruitment ?
The "older" mainstays of the club still soldiered on ... candiehappy , comewhatmay , zackah & pantskyle ....although harry000 is obviously being groomed for bigger things & has progressed well

Summary
AceAndy 's first season as Captain, in one of the most difficult baptism's of fire, in his 2nd full season of SFA
There have been good signs of a team bonding together, which bodes well for the future, however they need a bit of diversity in posting styles, experienced posters & more rookies ....so a lot

But there have been gains ... both Strigoi & Dr Mantis Taboggan consistently posted as Rookies, HawkAussie was an excellent addition to the team, which is an excellent sign, if they can add another 3-4 players next season ...we'll see tangible improvement
Total Posts ...Dragons went from 11th to 9th ....with an average post per match increase of 30
Total Posters went from 16 to 17 ....and ave weekly posters increased as well by one
List involvement hasn't changed, but the number of active posters has risen from 7 to 10 .....his can be attributed to the improved team bonding ...so kudos
The Dragons still can't win a match thread, only doing so on 3 occasions .....they need a couple of posters to engage the Dragons Rookies and other team members to be more active .....its a hard road for AceAndy & Hatchy1992 who both supported their team strongly, with Strigoi being a surprise packet

Still 7 posters averaging under 5 posts per week, meaning they're sticking their heads in, but not engaging .....too much left to too few

Needs
1. Bit more diversity in poster type
2. A couple of experienced posters
3. Another bunch of rookies

How quickly the Dragons rise, will depend on the off season efforts of the Dragons LG

Summary
Some big changes to the Hawks lineup in S28 ...gone was the enigmatic The Half Back and the big win for the Dragons in HawkAussie ...unfortunately for A93, the return of Le Grille and two rookies can only be viewed as "failed to launch"
But despite the difficulties of a failed draft ...the Hawks did well to hold their overall ranking, falling just th one spot ....but lets dig deeper

Total posts dropped from a ranking of #6 to #7 this season .....total posters used dropped as expected from 22 to 19 this season ....the Bears having the biggest number of players used , 24
To their credit, with less players used ...they had an average of 13.9 posters per match ..increasing their ranking from 6th in S27, to 5th in the League in S28 ......his carried over to being the #1 ranked team for list involvement
So, the Hawks utilized fewer players, but got more out of the team & got greater involvement

They scored 9 matchday wins ...on a par with S27, and also had 5 matches exceeding 100 posts in both S27 & S28

S29 was a true team performance & commendable ....but can the old fellas keep backing up season after season...they simply have to get rookie blood into the team ..another failed draft, may see that position of #6 hard to hold onto .. NaturalDisaster , Harvey Manfrenjensenden , spookism and Loonerty need an injection of youth into that side, as all teams do ....but overall the LG would be happy with the season

Summary
Well, certainly the club of the hour ....the "Camp" had nothing on the turmoil boiling, seething within the Furies LG .... TJASTA quit, but was held to his playing contract by "Captain Blood" Ned_Flanders .....is the blood letting over, or is their more to this story?

So all the emotion aside, how did the Furies fare ...at face value, you'd say crap ....well, the Furies actually improved their overall standing in the SFA (give me a gun now) ...rising from 10th (S27) to 8th (S28) ....still held 8th spot for total posts, whilst increasing total list involvement from 21 to 23 .....the kicker though was getting players to turnup to every game, with just under 11 posters ave each match (11th), but only 9 of those posters averaged more than 5 posts per game ....still better than the 6 posters in S27
Surprisingly all the benchmarking shows that the Furies improved in most area's with the exception of ave poster involvement weekly.

The Half Back missed nearly two thirds of the season, the VC Ned_Flanders really having a patchy season, dropping from a 50 ave to 19 this season, until he decided to take over the Furies .... Tigerturbulance spent 3 weeks in Banhammer prison ....so we can safely say the fish rotted at the head, and there was an absense of leadership .. during a period where small gains were in fact being had.

Good to see Carson Dial elevated to the LG .....his contribution a real positive for the team
The other positive was JackBero joining the club in R5 and averaging 21 posts in his first season & getting a Rising Star nomination

Needs
Stability in the LG ....no team can progress & have a vibrant list, if there's infighting in the LG
What will Neds Leadership style be like ....can he attract more players, we'll know more at the end of S29

Summary
Big changes at the Royals in the off-season ... fumbler, Quivorir , and Rodney Dangerfield departing .... cadsky has proven to be a successful Rookie, winning a Rising Star nomination, and really developing thru the season.
Overall, they only dropped one position overall, 8th (S27) to 9th (S28) .....but 75 points in the ranking, is a "long" way from the Roys in top spot on 179 points
Total posting numbers were largely the same ...and they remain one of the top sides to get their list involved, with 23 of their 27 list involved thru the season ...and an average of 14 posters turning up to each match, still 2 down on S27
But not enough players contributing more than a token post ....with the Royals only having 9 posters ave more than 5 posts per match (2nd last) ...and resulting in only 2 match posting wins for the season (12th position)
Only 4 teams had matches where the team posted under 100 ....a total of 8 matches for the season, consisting of 96 matches ....and the Royals had 4 of those 8
What measures success in the SFA ....playing finals, winning flags, or engaging with a Community ...I'd like to think theres a bit of "all of the above"

Summary
What a big season of change at the Gumbies ...... Barrybran & haydo joined forces to Co-Captain and resurrect the Gumbies ....a new logo, the recruitment of self confessed SFA great okeydoke7 , and with Rodney Dangerfield ...the season had an air of promise
But just the one Rookie addition in Ned Ryerson , who showed a lot of promise, winning a Rising Star nom and then disappeared after R12 ? .....maybe schoolies, hopefully

Overall ranking improved 1 position, 11th to 10th S28 .......posting numbers didn't alter, but they did improve their posting position to 11th
Pretty much all the numbers didn't change ....they did win twice as many match threads this season (4), which is more a slap to a couple of other teams ....active posters (ave season >5) did improve, going from 9 (S27) to 11 (S28) ......but these are small gains
Losing @hayo was a blow thru the season ..... BRAB posted spasmodically ...so the load was on Barrybran each week to fly the flag, with support from DERO

Needs
They need a couple of heavy posters, who can engage their own teammates .....the addition of 1 rookie a season simply won't cut it , and recruiting Qooty players on the slide, has been shown SFA wide, not to be a successful strategy
How long will this club continue to simply meander along ?

Summary
New appointed Captain Cadaver took the reins of the Bears in S29, supported by Test Tickle .... JoshWoodenSpoon doing a Mobbs and controlling things from the booth
Things didn't quit go to plan, with RL interrupting Dav's reign in week 2 of the season

The Bears, with Dav out, and new recruit Uncle_Leo not delivering .... and losing promising Rioli8217 in week 9, still had a very respectable season:
Overall ranking changed minimally ... they were still the #4 posting side, slipping from #2 last season ....had the most posters, with 24 from their list involved (21 last season) ... and #2 in list involvement , a significant jump on S27, which was highlighted by Ant Bear last season

They won 11/16 of their match threads, down on 13 last season.....the Bears are always strong in Rookie recruitment, finding more gold nuggets in AuntyBlindEye (ave 60 posts) , and Rioli8217 (ave 41 posts) .....hopefully we see Rioli8217 return

Was good to see xenxen really getting into the matchday threads & strongly contributing

The Bears have lost some big names the last couple of seasons, sadly Cadaver is also apparently leaving...there were only 7 posters ave more than 10 ....so there's a need to replace them or attract more quality rookies ....the latter has been the Bears approach

S29 looks a challenging one for the Bears LG team ...their positioning could go either way, and JoshWoodenSpoon is showing signs of wear & tear......can they pull the right leavers, in the off-season, or start a slide down into Gumbie territory

For 3 seasons now the Mount Buller Demons have been the model of consistency, finishing in the Top 4 overall, and this season taking up the #3 ranked team.
Total post numbers increased by approx 1,000, taking them to #4 ranked posting team ....ave posters rocking up to the match threads was still strong at 14 (4th) ....the Demons won 10 match threads, same as in S27
Where there has been a big gain is in a greater engagement of the list ....13 posters averaging more than 5 posts, compared to 10 last season

The two stars of the season were Rising Star Nominated moginie, who averaged 31 posts in her debut season ....and Callums_Guns who went from 13 ave in S27, to an 85 ave this season .....congrats

cooney continues to be a rock of that team, ably supported by a reliable group inc DemonJim , Yakker & sausageroll ....with manangatang leading from the front
But studying the numbers, it's the 1st and 2nd season players keeping the place vibrant ....do they really need more rookies, well not drastically ....but this season showed the benefit of engaged rookies stimulaing the regulars

Summary
The Roys under the leadership of TedDougChris and mobbs again held the #1 position for the season, but also winning the majority of their match posting threads, topping the average # of posters per week (16.5), # of active posters (14) ...and list involvement (0.92)

They brought in 3 rookies, George, and fumbler .....from all angles it's a pretty well run club and clearly th LG working hard at getting posters active.
There was a fall off in the last 6 games, but that seems consistent with the league, as fatigue kicks in and RL draft & trading take off in RL

Excitingly, all the Rookies were engaged, this is the life blood of the league ....and whilst posting numbers weren't high, they were consistently posting in almost every game

All up, the Roys LG would be very content with the numbers, they have to workout now, how to win a game of Qooty

Summary
A very high turnover of the list at the end of S28, with the massive loss of Obeanie1 ...how would the club respond to that loss and loss of other fringe players like tradedraft and Ant Bear ?
Well the club responded in very positive fashion, changing overall ranking from #6 (S27) to #5 (S28) ...moreover they improved their overall posting ranking from 4th (S27) to 3rd (S28) even with a 17% drop in posting numbers ...their position assisted by a 10% drop in league posting numbers.

The worrying sign was the 3 rookies .. dosser , Magus , and Greasyrhys , who all started off ok posting regularly, but then fell of the perch after 4-5 matches ....found it interesting to look at the matches that killed off the rookies interest
The Swampies dropped in ave weekly posters by nearly 2 ...dropping from 7th (S27) to 8th (S28) ....but list involvement was basically unchanged
But the stalwarts of the club philreich , (C) Far Kern , jackster83 , Firestarter and the LG stood up to record 13 matchday posting wins, improving on S28

Special mention to GotTheGoodes who I think will hold a record, as the only poster to record 16 consecutive matches of 27 posts .....here's you post watcher

Needs
Too much is being asked of the senior players , an injection of rookies that don't fall out of love with the SFA ....and a need to get dosser back engaged ....hopefully it was a RL priority that saw him leave & that he returns in S29
The 62 post ave Ant Bear has not effectively be replaced .....interesting times at The Underground Stadium

Summary
The Wonders fell 3 spots in the overall ranking in S27 from S26 ....and there they've stayed in S28
A little disappointing given Ant Bear (ave 23 posts) decided to join and the Rising Star nominated Bloodied52 (ave 52 posts) hiting his straps immediately in S1
Posting numbers increased to be the 6th ranked posting team ...but the big stat is that they fell from total players used, 23 and ranked 2nd in S27 ...to 18 players and ranked 2nd last & 2nd last in list involvement, only in front of the Dragons, and astonishingly well behind the Furies.

They did win more match threads this season 8 versus 2.5 last season .....and yes it was the same posters that hold the team together .. Dingster , Elton Johns Wig , U2tigers and the two newbies
Players that had a poor season by their standards: Bonz , Sab22 ...the latter a rising star 2 seasons ago, would be disappointed by his ouput .....he has so much potential
Admittedly the Wonders lost haydo and CazC30 partway thru last season ....but it seems they need some more players to get that active player participation level back up & a greater list involvement
