Just to give Melbourne Pies fans a heads up, Collingwood have decided to adopt a new international footy team. The 2007 Scottish footy season will be the first for the Glasgow Magpies, who the Pies have agreed to kit out in back and white, as well as providing coverage of the Glasgow Magpies SARFL matches on their website.

And you'll love this one - the Glasgow Magpies home ground is to be Victoria Park in Glasgow's West End!

To Collingwood's credit, they are the best team that our small league has dealt with in terms of their attitude to the internationalisation of the game.

Added to it, they have helped remove Essendon's colour's from the league, as the Glasgow Magpies will replace the Glasgow Redbacks this year. As a Hawks fan I'm happy to see the back of the black and red!

Watch this space, as the Glasgow Magpies website is going to be up and running soon, with a feature on the Pies own website somewhere not too far in the future.

The SARFL website is at www.sarfl.org.uk although the Magpies aren't featured yet. Hope fully up and running in a couple of weeks.

There is still a link there with the Scottish side in theory, but Essendon have been very slow to put anything on their website about it.
