Here’s what I’m surprised about. Cameron is not a forward, he showed that last week with his lack of knowledge of how to play the position. He is however a 2nd ruck, which we don’t need with the shorter quarters and the best ruck in the league. This is why Cox is an absolute must in our side, he knows the position and he is that definite target that worries the opposition. I don’t think any saints defender will be having nightmares about guarding Darcy. Poor selection in my opinion.

Cameron deserved another game. He was never getting dropped.

I agree. Cameron didn't look like taking a contested mark when he was playing deep in our forward line. I hope this is just a matter of giving Cox one more week to shake off the rust.

Perhaps the selection committee are privy to a cunning plan which is not immediately apparent to us mere posters. More likely Cox is not ready to play. Either way, let's hope that Cameron's talents are put to best possible use. With Wills playing, De Goey's strength can be used up forward. If De Goey plays forward we may not be so desperate for a tall target. Perhaps as SR36 suggested, Cameron could play a link up role coming out defence while WHE plays forward. Hopefully the team mixes it up a bit because Richmond are tonight showing that their form is nothing special, making our draw appear less of an accomplishment.

No- not at this level. If a better player is available or there are no match ups it shouldn't matter how well you played the week before. I have to assume Cox is still not considered fit enough. Cameron didn't look remotely threatening up forward. He did all of his impressive work as a ruckman. He is an excellent back up ruckman. Buckley talked about his contested marking up forward pre season but he did not get near it last week.

Time will tell. Cox is a far better option as a forward target.

Imagine Darcy Cameron was named Callum Brown - you'd be fondling yourself after that performance.

People are so odd. Cameron did nothing wrong last week, and when it appears Grundy might not be 100% its an absolute no-brainer he's in the 22.

We had fcuk all inside 50's last week so its a tad hard for Cameron to take grabs inside 50 and kick multiple goals. Give him more than 1 game ffs.

I think last week was not a great sample to judge cameron on, given the nature of the game. Most of our players weren't performing to their best. He probably did everything was asked of him. He doesn't have to mark it in the forward line. Just bring the ball to ground and let the smalls do the work. Its exactly what they expect from Cox also. Not his fault Elliott and De Goey were poor.

I personally don't think there is a match-up for him and I've just watched Bucks' presser. While he didn't answering the question, smirked when Thomas and Madgen were suggested as being out of the side
There you go, I didn't see the presser, and you were spot on!

Happy enough with those changes, I had said Tyler out over Madgen but if will back the match committee call!

Hopefully a few sausage rolls for Stevo, and good luck to Wills getting another crack. Gets De Goey forward a bit more hopefully, and Tyler Brown back up the ground too

I would have thought T. Brown would be first out from that forward group. Even before Thomas. Unless they're planning to play him in the midfield rotation instead this week, giving him a reprieve.

Little between T Brown and Thomas in terms of general stats from last week, but Brown was top 4 for the team in a pressure acts, Thomas at the other end of the spectrum. Brown also had the bigger impact R1.

JT's career alarm bells should be ringing, especially off the back of 2019.

Can try but it wont happen, would have similar value to Roughead when we brought him in. Age + declining performance = very low pick
We should have traded him to GC at the end of 2018 when he had value but instead we decided to extend his contract...

Good changes. JTs been a ghost for too long. Keep giving Daicos, Brown bros and others a go.

Madgen is the weekly 21-22nd name on the team sheet. I think the disciplined, hard running and well contested Mayne could most weeks play the 7th defender role solidly enough... although I do worry about him kicking it out from defence.
