I think it's good news that we get see the season out. Sad for Victorian fans they can't watch it live.

I'm hopeful a Queensland Hub will mean we see some footy in Cairns! This is an opportunity to grow the game in the regions.

Melbourne People won't be allowed to leave until there is a Vaccine.

There should be no 2020 Premiership as this is NOT The Home and away Season.

So Lions vs Suns 2020 GF?

Yeah, this be interesting. Two months away, and the QLD border shut to all Victorians, so no family. There will be players that can’t/won’t be able to do that. And you can’t really be angry at them when they have personal reasons that make staying away that long unworkable.
WCE will also be pissed.. their record there was not good..

Reckon there be lot of Players will Refuse to go and leave there Familes for so long

That's why you can "Home" game in away venues Dave. Not much can be done, so just have to deal with it, to get through this year.

This year will never happen again, so have to make it through the best they can.

Season will need a * next to it

Will just go to show, whomever can win this, it will mean so much more to them. With all the travelling, leaving families, hubs, and all the challenges that come with it. It will be the team with the mental strength to power through.

Look, I think it is still going to be a legitimate season, as long as the interstate clubs also have to travel to other hubs (which so far they have). Every team is in the same boat.

Where the season starts losing its integrity is if players start dropping out of the hubs because it is too long to be away from family.

Also, if they can't get the 17 rounds done and teams don't play everyone at least once, then the integrity of the season drops off.

For now, I think it is a more than legitimate season. But it's going to be very interesting if Treloar, Crisp and Roughead agree to stay away from family so long. It's not like they can come back for a week and leave again, because borders are closed to come back in. Let's hope that the AFL finds a way to get family into the hubs.

Agree. We should get a Full Refund now

I agree with your feelings about the season, Dave. I can't take the footy too seriously, it is like background noise to me.

But I don't understand your sentiment about memberships. You pledged at least some of your membership money to the club knowing that you probably wouldn't get to see the Pies play, so what has really changed now?

I had to Pledge as they said you have to Re-Start your Membership IF you want a Total Re-Fund. I did as been a Memeber for sometime but did it Thru Gritted Teeth and then was before the 2nd Wave had Started as before the 2nd Wave we where close to getting Crowds back at the Footy

Young Players will most likely do it but the Older Players with Families will not be for it

If you need that membership money back, then of course request a refund, you're well within your rights.

If you don't need that money back, then (IMO) it's really important that you don't request it.

The Club needs money to survive and to prosper. The game needs money to survive and prosper. Memberships are a huge component of that.

The pandemic has significantly cut my income but I'm luckily still working and the money I'd get back wouldn't be the difference for me keeping my head above water or not, so the Club (& the AFL) can keep it and I'll treat it as a donation.

I don't mind people choosing to let Club to keep there Money for there Memberships but should not Force Members to Choose to Keep there Membership or Start from Scratch with it with wanting all your Money Back as there people in very Bad Situations

I disagree. Did the 1916 season have a *?

Let’s just hope the pies win!

“The 1916 season of the VFL saw just four teams competing, due to World War I. This led to the anomaly of Fitzroy having the distinction of winning both the wooden spoon and the premiership in the same year, finishing 4th out of 4 but progressing through to the Grand Final in the final four finals system and winning that match.”

I was reading on the Fox Footy live article that it's on the cards that they are going to set up a hub specifically to allow families (as well as players that were left behind) to get up there now that the situation has changed. Not sure about WA but it sounds like we will be moving to Queensland after round 9 anyway.

That sounds about right, although they will still have to quarantine for two weeks if they want to go.

It's a big hurdle, even if families are inclined to relocate for however long it'll be.

Was hoping we’d get to see some footy in person this year. Unfortunately idiot security and mass gatherings have seemingly put an end to that. No wonder a lot of others are stick not being able to enjoy life and are now ignoring the lockdown. Personally I stopped caring when they allowed 10,000 to gather in the city.

Could condensing the season suggest a week or two off to allow players time back at home?

If people NEED the money back - they absolutely should ask. If not, consider it a donation. I have. Don't expect to go to 1 game unfortunately.

I think the club if/when we get normality, give incentives to those that stayed on. Bigger discount on club merchandise or whatever.

This * talk is just pointless. You can only play what's in front of you, the team you have available - on the ground available - in the conditions available.

There are people in the world really really struggling through this compared to what we have to experience in Aus - and people are saying a team that wins a sporting event has an *.

Get a grip. Everything has had to change and we are lucky we have some sport to watch rather than the news constantly bringing us down.

Doubt WA Will allow it.

So the AFL will become the QAFL
