I've mentioned it before and I'll say it again, something about Zavier Maher that has me saying he will bolt up. The section below from today's article confirms it.

MURRAY BUSHRANGERS

Potential No.1 pick Elijah Hollands is still firmly in the minds of AFL recruiters, despite the exciting and ultra-versatile 188cm utility rupturing his ACL in February. He's not the only Bushrangers prospect garnering AFL interest, though.

Zavier Maher is rocketing up the ranks of several recruiters as a strong and powerful 184cm midfielder. He's explosive out of stoppages, has quick and evasive lateral movement and is seen in some circles as a potential first-round prospect after a summer where he spent time training with Richmond.

Charlie Byrne is a running 183cm defender who has a raking left-foot kick. He's a sound decision-maker and is another who has attracted some interest. Clubs had been hopeful of seeing him push through the midfield this season.

Yeah, I like Maher too. His All Stars game was very good.

We have a crap nga area with nothing coming through while the bigger clubs have the footy equivalent to the gold rush.
And we just cop it without a murmur.
We’ve got the two bens running the joint and they’re don’t squat to push back to the afl.

Academies are the epitome of manufacturing outcomes.

They are the thumb on the scale when it comes to drafting.

There should be 2 Academies with a wind down timeline and the ability to take 1 player per year at a discount. Gold Coast and GWS as no player could meet father son requirements. They remain in place until father sons come into calculation.

Scrap the rest of them.

But anyway f*** Academies. It's was funny shit listening to Dwyane Russell say we were lucky Bailey Scott picked us as if he was ever going anywhere else.

We're about to have a run of lucky years where sons of blokes who'd die for this club are going to select us.

Buckle up.

Hollands pick 3 or 4 depending if we put in one bid or two.
Ford/Cox with the Melb pick.
Trade Brown for a first next year.
Hit the draft hard again then.

More chance Geelong take Oliver Henry. They already have his brother Jack. We'd probably go Zac Reid at the second pick if he is still there.

Zach Reid from Gippsland Power. Another I've heard we are looking at.

"PMBanger's" musings:

A few of these picks strike me as odd considering some of the lists.

First four seem plausible. You'd think Sydney would be all over Phillips given Kennedy/Parker don't have many seasons left. Freo have a good core young midfield in Brayshaw/Cerra/Serong, they need KPP's. Essendon need a KPF, can Cox fill that position?

Worth noting if Melbourne make the finals, it's a double spot loss for us. Given that GC were awarded a 2020 #11 PP for **** knows reason, that Geelong now hold.

Essentially them missing the finals is worth 2 spots.
