I forgot about Mayne. Swap Mayne with Langdon.

Langdon & Howe > Madgen.
At full fitness I can't argue, but thats not the case. How much game time has Langdon been getting in the scratchies? I doubt he is ready to be honest

Oh no doubt about it. Can we do it off a 5 day break while they've had 12 days? That is the biggest question.

The question is not are the Lions beatable, the question is - if we don't beat them, will flogs throw their toys out of the cot again and demand Buckley's resignation?

Because I'm a bit over it

The more I think about the Cameron problem I think Max Lynch should be given a go. Bucks mentioned that it is rare that the two rucks are on the field at the same time. One is usually on the bench and rotating, this makes me think that Lynch might be a good in and leave Cox deep forward with no ruck duties. Max apparently has been doing well in the 2nds. Tohill has been doing well too, good for the future.

I've been a Bucks fan since day one as a player and coach. I got into a near punch up with a fellow pie fan under the clock at Vic Park because he and a number of others believed Bucks was deserting us to go home to Port Adelaide I said the rumours are BS and he will be our next captain. He told me I was plugging delusional and continued to abuse him.
I have backed him all the way until our most recent slump 7 or so weeks back when we began this ugly, slow, defensive crap. We were shocking to watch, even when we won
I have no problem with wanting him gone a week or two ago. The feeling was a justifiable one.
I feel we may have turned the corner and can see confidence re-emerging in many players who have been down for weeks. We are beginning to play with a more attacking mindset. If this continues I am back on the Bucks Bandwagon.
You cannot rubbish people for being angry and frustrated by our gamestyle this year.

Yup,I agree. We are playing Cameron similar to Vardy, Waterman, Chol. Part-time ruckman.

Play the better ruckman. Lynch.

Honestly it Cox can compete with Andrews and stop him from intercepting. Keep him below 8 Intercept possessions.

We kick it to Cox, and hopefully we have numerous crumbers on the ground.

In Brisbane losses, Andrews opponents have scored 3.1 & 3.2. Hawkins & Lynch.

We keep him accountable. We win.

This is definitely the week to play Langdon. Gives him a three game block leading to finals (if we qualify) to see where he's at and if he's apart of our best mix. Back line depth is pretty strong atm so I reckon we can play as a spare man running and carrying and taking intercept marks ala Howe. Can give him some one-on-one time on Rayner and McCarthy too.

Our defensive group except for Howe is completely fit and it's tough to squeeze them all in but I reckon we just have to play them all, thankfully many of them are quite versatile and can play midfield/wing too (Crisp, Quaynor, Greenwood, Noble). Even Madgen has a profile that could be trialled in other positions (tagger for example).

I don't think the club are going to throw up any surprises from here on out. I expect only Langdon will play his first game for the year (if he even does). The likes of Rantall and Murphy probably don't get a chance now because it's unlikely they'll be part of our best mix come finals when we have a number of best 22 players likely to come back. If it were up to me though, I'd like to play Rantall instead of Callum Brown.

I don't think the role of second ruck is important, well certainly not important enough to play Darcy Cameron despite how little else he offers. We're not at that much of a disadvantage if we have to play a 190cm player in ruck to relieve Grundy for a couple of contests a day. Somebody more able at ground level will give us a lot more than a few hit outs.

Callum Brown always has a couple of bright moments a game but it's never really enough to give a pass for his performance. Another 2 kick, goalless, tackleless game should see him dropped again.

OUT: D Cameron (omitted), C Mayne (injured), C Brown (omitted)
IN: T Langdon, L Greenwood, T Ruscoe

B: Brayden Maynard - Jordan Roughead - Tom Langdon
HB: Jack Crisp - Darcy Moore - Jack Madgen
C: Josh Daicos - Scott Pendlebury - Tom Phillips
HF: Jamie Elliott - Brody Mihocek - Jaidyn Stephenson
F: Josh Thomas - Mason Cox - Trey Ruscoe
R: Brodie Grundy - Taylor Adams - Levi Greenwood
I: John Noble - Tyler Brown - Isaac Quaynor - Will Hoskin-Elliott

Wouldnt change a thing going into this game, however with Mayne getting injured he's going to force our hand.

Out: Mayne, In: Greenwood.

Very easy change in the scheme of things.

Cameron lucky to keep his spot, however the structure today proves this works. The big boys keep defenders honest and allow Stevo and JT to get off the hook, something we have desperatley missed this year.

nah, we were too tall today. Cameron goes out.

Rewatched the scratch match footage.

We need to get Rantall in ASAP.

Bianco is also so clean by both hand and foot. Although not particularly attacking.

Somewhat surprisingly for me Tohill and Wilson looked alright too on the lead.

come on, how slick was Broomhead. One touch, elite kicking... his goal from the centre square? Last week 3 goals and 30 touches. Just needs timemin the middle. c and at Brown get it, he should be given a chance.

Out Cameron Mayne Callum brown
In Varcoe greenwood Langdon

I would move crisp to the wing with Langdon in.

Varcoe up forward. Wouldn’t be against ruscoe Or rantall coming in instead but this is most likely Varcoe’s last year and we might as well play him up forward to see what he can deliver

Langdon Roughead Madgen
Maynard Moore Quaynor
Daicos Pendelbury Crisp
Elliott Mihocek Thomas
Hoskin-Elliot Cox Stephenson
Foll: Grundy Greenwood Adams
Inter Phillips T. Brown Noble Varcoe

Are you the bloke that tried to shake his hand at Adelaide Oval a couple of weeks ago?

I don’t think having the overly tall fwd line did all that much in occupying defenders so the smalls could have a better impact. I feel like I rarely saw all of Cameron, Cox and Mihocek in the forward line or deeper at the same time. Cameron barely played 50% of the match (not complaining) and Mason also played a third of his ~80 mins in the back half. Maybe I just missed seeing their set up but Cameron’s impact is being overstated. Better entry into the 50, better crumbing and better determination from the small forwards make a lot more difference imo
