I think we have little hope, the draw has been stacked against us all season.

I think we need to rest the warriors Grundy, Adams, Moore and Maynard. The club will know who needs to be rested. The last thing we want is to make the finals and have one of those 4 out injured. Single it early enough, and the Lions might also rest some players.

Out: Maynard, Moore, Grundy, Adams Mayne.

In: Greenwood, Langdon, Lynch, Wills and Rantall.

Perfect time to introduce Langdon and to bring back Greenwood before the bye.
Those outs look pretty silly coming up against Brisbane. Other than Mayne.

Your reasoning for it is silly as well. If we keep winning we are a chance for top 4

Our next opponent is equal top of the ladder, they play at home every single week, and they are coming off their bye.

We are coming off a five day break.

We are still a tad under-manned.

Trying too hard to win this one might not be in our long-term best interests. So if we lose, even if it is by a lot, I won't worry too much.

If we had lost today, I would have been worried. But we didn't, so I am not worried.

I think everything's going pretty much to plan. I think we're a chance for the flag, in fact.

But I don't think a win next week is on the cards

I agree.

If we aren’t giving up on this season, then long term planning up until the finals would be required. We need to pick our battles.

Realistically, we will not beat Brisbane (due to form, rest, travel). It would be nice to get a win against them but let’s put it in the “unlikely” pile.

I rather we do all we can to give us the best chance to beat Gold Coast and set us up for the following weeks. I personally think this would mean resting De Goey and other questionables for this week (unless we want to use the Brisbane game as a “practice” game for these players to ease them back in). Give key players a rest (Grundy?).

If we get belted, then so be it (so long as it improves our chances for the rest of the season).

From the Brisbane game, I honestly wouldn’t be too disappointed in a loss (unlike the games we had against Freo etc). I just don’t want to see any of our key players injured in this game.

We have a bye after the Brisbane game. They will get their rest then. Otherwise it will end up being three weeks between games for them. That's not good.

Warming to the prospect of a Lynch debut. Cox looks best when playing as a genuine key forward, which subsequently helps the forward line function much better as a unit. 3 talls is a good way to do this, pity Kelly and Reid are injured. Unfortunately Cameron was atrocious against Carlton and just doesn't seem to have any forward craft at all. While Max Lynch would be the next big man up you'd imagine.

Out - Mayne & Cameron
In - Greenwood & Ruscoe.

I would also be interested to see how Max Lynch went if we bought him in for Cameron. Not sure how he'd go rucking 20% of the game rather than 80%+, but it seems like he's been playing some good footy in the scratch matches.

You would think Brisbane should win this based off the long break they had compared to our 5 day turn around. However, if we can get on top of them early I think we can win. The boys will know that they have a bye after this game so they can go as hard as possible knowing a long rest will follow.

Brisbane are dangerous there is no doubt about that. We have however had the wood over them. We structurally match up well with them. I think if our defense holds up then we win.

Will be a fascinating game.
