He played 4 games in 3 weeks which is 4 games in a row in a normal season (or close enough if you count 23 days from first to last of the 4 games).
Again, I get why people are hesitant to believe it. My point is there is no evidence that he is not over it.
All I know is the program he has been on is all about managing the problem and not actually fixing it. They have put together a program that works on strengthening other areas to compensate for the injured area. All the comments from his specialist in Ireland where about management and not cure.
From the outside looking in my opinion is if everything goes okay he should be able to play at a decent level. He will never be the player he looked like he was going to be and I say that on the back of no players in history has ever missed close to 3 years through injury and ended up being as good or as good as the potential they showed.
Given it is a management based program there may well have to be rest weeks and there are chances it may go wrong. OP is not a great injury for anyone but it is worse for players who rely on their spring and pace of the mark. I remember Hird talking about his groin injury in the 2001 GF. He said he just had now power off the mark or in his kicking and he felt like he had lead boots on.
