“Cave paintings such as these also help fill in gaps about our understanding of early human migrations.

It is known that people reached Australia 65,000 years ago, but they would probably have had to cross the islands of Indonesia, known as “Wallacea”.

Where's the scientifically established correlation between this painting and aboriginal migration 65000 years ago?

I don’t know mate, I’m not an anthropologist. Just repeating what the article states is the belief. Something to do with the ice age, the continents being joined and that Homo sapiens are from Africa 🤷🏽‍♂️

It seems like just another empty politically charged claim.

Political how? I think it’s just because they know which species of humans co-existed with certain animals.

This 65000 year old painting in Indonesia has basically no correlation with aboriginal migration to the Australia continent, so why publish something like that?

It's already reasonably well established that aboriginals were Javanese who migrated to Australia.

Isn’t there just theories but not proof...not that it matters tbh. We’re all just Homo sapiens from Africa. Spose if you’re into anthropology it’s a big deal.

Biology.

Follow the genes.

That’s good for the knowing. I spose it’s the how people moved around that is what’s interesting. It’s all part of the puzzle.

Personally, I enjoy history. Saw an article of the oldest ever cave painting and thought it was cool. 45,000 year old paintings are cool to me.

Just like this,

very interesting, i dont suppose you could mock up where "adam and eve" were on this chart?

The genes are the best markers for "pre-human civilisation" migration paths. Nothing else comes close.

The aboriginals of the pre-colonial era are of predominately New Guinea & Javanese stock with a little bit of Indian (dots not feathers) showing up in the data a few hundred years ago (~1500's).

This isolation led to the development their positive and negative (post-colonial) traits.

Examples:

Negative trait: The inability to metabolise alcohol compared to westerners.

Positive trait: Enhanced visual-spacial skills.

Unfortunately, when it came to war technology they were sadly lacking, hence the eventual geographical takeover.

Just on alcohol, have you heard or read
about how beer was pretty much all anyone drank, even kids till coffee was introduced? Pretty interesting.

The change basically lead to a more intellectual society.

Yes, a lot of wine & "ale" was drank in the past because the sterilising properties of ethanol meant folks didn't get sick or died from water poisoning.

Remember, microbes were only first identified in 1665, and it took a while longer for folks to work out that they can make you crook.

Small beer. Is where our phrase that survives comes from.
