intersting how coleman keeps bobbing up both on fan lists and expert lists. 96 games i think, they must have been absolutely awesome. shame he didnt play more.

Strange nobody has named the most prolific and wierdest FF of the 80s..... (no it isn't Capper)

Hint: he scored more goals than anyone else during the 80s

Ablett only played 3-4 years in FF and played most of his career on the forward flank. Mind you In those 3-4 years up FF he got 3 coleman medals in a row.

How about that Bernie Quinlan.

May not be the best of all time but probably the best kick to watch...if u wanna see kicking perfection watch a replay of Bernie.

Booooom.

p.s. ..Lockett the best.

Lockett to the top.
Hudson was an average compete goal ahead of Lockett thoughout his career at 5.69 goals per game. Lockett was great Hudson was greater.

The greatest I'VE SEEN

1.Hudson (easily)
2.Lockett
3.Dunstall
4.Ablett
5.McKenna

Haven't seen Coleman, Pratt or Coventry so I can't really judge them properly. It's possible that all could well get in, Coleman maybe even at 2 from what I've read and heard but I never got to see to to judge properly.

Hudson was a soft choker tho...just ask cowboy neale...if he tried that on plugger he'd be in serious trouble.

Sympathetic mention to Bob Pratt...another great we wouldnt have seen but u probably need some talent to kick 150 at the top level.

Hard to rank blokes like Coventry and Pratt...cant say i've ever even seen footage of them

Thanks for mentioning Bernie. He wasn't the greatest full-forward or CHF, but he was a more complete footballer than many who rate higher.

For my money:
1/ Hudson
2/ Coleman
3/ Lockett
4/ Dunstall
5/ Ablett/Pratt/Coventry

Don't ever recall Cowboy ever saying that. He said, when they spoke about the danger of Hudson in the 1971 GF, Cowboy said he won't be any danger if he's knocked out, which he duly did when he stuck his fist into the side of Hudson's head a chase for the ball. As for choking, in 1971 Hudson kicked 8 goals in the Second Semi Final and had 3 before half time in the Grand Final before getting badly concussed at that point. Choker........that's funny!

Cowboy would look Plugger straight in the eye and go toe to toe, make no mistake about that. He was one tough dude.
