Coverage starts at 6.30PM on the AFL website and AFL app:

The draft itself starts at 7pm (AEST)

The draft order for the mid-season rookie draft is the reverse ladder order after Round 11, with the number of picks dependent on the number of open list spots. (Spots opened up as LTIs/retirees are put on the inactive list.)

So we either have seen the last of Cotch or he might finish at the end of this year or might retire at the end of next year. So you’ve pretty much covered all bases there. Surprised you didn’t also throw in he might retire in 2 years as well.
sounds funny the way you put it, but, i did say we have "almost" seen the last of him not that we have which is the way you made it sound. The whisper is he wont sign another contract after this one runs out next year and may possibly retire before it ends anyway.
Im only passing on what i have heard. I hope its just chinese whispers. Have a good one.

I thought the Crows where very Interested in Johnson

Nah, we were never linked with Johnson. We just got continously brought up because his cousin plays for us (McAdam) and they sound like extremely similar players.

It was always one of Parnell/Moyle/Davis for us.

All good, I think most would expect Cotch would probably retire end of next year or 2023. He’s body has been a battering ram so wouldn’t expect he’d play deep into his 30’s.

Be interesting to see how Hawthorn manage all of Lewis, Kozi, Jeka and now Callow. Reasonable chance all crack it but I struggle to see them getting near the Roughead/Franklin/Dunstall/Brereton-tier. Guess some of them could play in defence.

At least you are setting a realistic expectation...

Callow will end up a defender IMO
If he does work out down there and form a solid combination with DGB it will be nice just to have 1 part of the ground sorted going forward. Can't then fix the massive holes in the other 2 parts

it’s a fact that for what ever reason clubs overlook players coming out of Western Jets, they usually have to work twice as hard to get an opportunity and often have to come off a rookie list, has been happening for 20 years.
Eddie Ford was the only one last year wasn’t he?

Very hard worker.

And tassie boys another 200% harder than the jets boys

Cotchin could go either way imo
He has no reason to sign another contract and knows if he is still motivated and wants to continue he gets another years no questions asked
He is 31 years old and has 258 games and will most likely play another 30 odd by the end of 2022 taking him to around 290 games

That would be extremely close to 300 games to not continue 1 more year , You are a long time retired and to play the last year (2023 if he continues) as non captain supporting the new skip would be such a Cotch thing to do.

Cotchin deserves to be a 300 game player

Kalin Lane was interviewed on the Lions podcast today, and mentioned that he thought he was going to be drafted to another team at the msd, but that Lions got in ahead of which ever team it was.

Wonder who’s grass we cut?

Gold Coast maybe? Sam Durham said he thought he was gonna go elsewhere too

Could also mean that the club he thought he was going to changed their mind and went another Ruckman
