I for one, would like to see Grundy shot out of a canon into the sun, do I have any other takers?

When he gets back, he can be placed on a contract befitting of his skill set and will be welcomed with warm open arms.

He’s a legend and I love him but f*ck me we erred with that contract…

Our pathetic skill level was on a par with the umpiring.

Crisp has good intentions but wow he can butcher the ball. Noble also seems to be a quarter back but his disposal is also bang average. Plenty of other poor ball users.

Longmuir for the second or third time outcaoched us. He must think ”how ****ing dumb are they”. They (Fremantle) just fed off our turnovers, And moved the ball with ease.

McCreery going off injured was a blow as no one else applies manic pressure in our forward line.

The only real positive was that the team fought back multiple times.

Nothing against Harvey but a months worth of work has been pI ssed up against the wall. Bloody frustrating and a stupid decision to move Buckley on mid season.

Given it is GW who is overseeing things, if I was:

Jack Crisp and John Noble, I would be feeling nervous. I believe poor ball users will be the first to go. Both would have some decent currency especially.

Role reversal with Cameron, worth a try. Grundy is weak overhead tho.

For me, no ruckman is worth a million unless they are exceptionally good at something else.

If Grundy can play forward a bit and kick 2 to 3 goals a game then he is getting closer to a million dollar player.

In terms of Freo game, Lynch deserved to play ahead of Cox. That would have allowed Grundy to push forward more often. Would have been another great test for Lynch.

Grundy is still down on his 2018/19 form but is getting closer to it. We probably need to keep him on Earth for a bit longer.

Don’t see why we went with Cox. Was clearly worst on ground. Only reason I can see is to boost his trade value but on today’s output it would have gone down

Should have put him in for the centre bounces where Grundy was getting owned.

So how many clearances did Grundy get? 2 compared to his opposite number's 9. Thats the issue you're failing to comprehend.
It was odd watching it. Grundy seemed to jump early on a few occasions while Darcy just stood there unmoved and grabbed the ball to clear. It happened a couple of times which was frustrating. Grundy’s timing was definitely off

Our scrubber midfield blitzed the ladder leading Demon's last match and there was no Grundy to "save" us on that occasion.
No, I think that Lynchs unpredictability in tapping down the ball to areas where the oppo mids couldn't antcipate it, played a big part in us getting the ball going our way out of the centre when we played Melbourne.
No need for the personal abuse beligerent one, just trying to have a civil discussion.

Lol it's only unpredictable because he's played two games so the opposition don't bother trying to work him out. If he was our number 1 ruckman playing week in week out he'll get found out pretty quick. People forget so easily the Fraser/Guy Richards/Cam Wood/Ben Hudson/early Grundy/Witts days so easily.

It's easy to have a good game or two where you can breakeven with a top ruckman like a Gawn/Grundy/NicNat. What's difficult is consistently putting up the ruck numbers that Grundy does week in week out. He might not win us many games ATM (although he definitely did during 2018-2020) but Grundy is rarely if ever the reason we lose a game.

The deterioration in our midfield and ball movement is the reason we're losing games this year.

That deterioration isn't so hard to understand as some seem to find it.

Look back just a few years and we had in our starting midfield

Grundy
Swan
Adams
Pendlebury
Treloar

Out of that comes

Swan - Brownlow medalist and unbeatable one on one in any situation losing him at least a couple of seasons early has been catastrophic.
Treloar - the main speed - sadly that double hammy ruined his delivery but at his peak he was a weapon
Grundy - the opposition have worked him out and simply wait for him to drop it at his feet and simply block
Adams - has become injury prone
Pendlebury - has lost a step and also carrying more injuries

So although we have big problems in the forward line our midfield is a slow motion train wreck.

And it will get worse as both Penders and Tay are entering the twilight.

If we don't get replacements in place and up to speed within a couple of years our midfield will simply be shambolic.

Why did Roughead end up in the forward line??

Noticed that too. Lobb took himself behind the ball late so in order to keep even numbers ahead of the ball Roughead followed. Not sure if it was good game sense from Roughead or good coaching.

Agree.

To answer your previous question mate, Dulcies is still the best. Had lunch there Friday looking across the lake at Fishpen. Yes it’s a beautiful spot here 👍
Very jealous. Great spot for cycling too. Usually joined the locals for their regular rides.

Roughead didn't seem too much out of place down there. Or maybe I had just given the vodka too much of a nudge,
