  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st rounder

So we got him with pick 5, put 60 or so games onto him and develop him and then trade him for pick 6, one pick worse???? I know sometimes our trading has been poor in the past but thats not going to happen.
It won't.

Anyone who's been following footy for 10 years knows a single pick for Cerra is fantasy.

Trelour
Smith
Neale
Hill
Lobb
Cameron
Kelly
etc etc

Multiple first-rounders.

some good examples there of over paying !! Be quite a few of those deals where the clubs would like their multiple first round picks back !

of that list, only neale has been worth it. sure cameron has only just got there but at 28 with recurring hamstring injuries, plus being overrated in the first place, i dont think theyll get the value out of it.

ill spew if we give up 2 first rounders for him. he wont be better than the 2 first round midfielders we could have instead.

Sure , there’s plenty of players picked in the first round where clubs would like their 1 st rounders back too though

Yep only Neale for me too, If Cameron wins Geelong a flag then hes worth it too.Didn't Geelong get those picks from Kelly anyway ? So hasnt put them backwards in the draft

yep very true too. You'd think you'd nail one of those first round picks though, and a reasonable chance of nailing both

so for me 2 first rounds picks is too much and I'd rather North took its chances in the draft rather than pay a big price to get someone in

We've got 7 atm. 7 and a late 2nd or early 3rd is more than enough.
Why would he go from a team clearlynon the rise to one that's fast approaching rabble status??.
Cerra will get compensated handsomely wherever he ends up .
Its team success he ultimately wants and that's now firmly in the rear view mirror at punt rd

That’s not Devon Smith is it? We got Smith and 2 seconds back for one first rounder, Lobb was not 2 first rounders either.

Fremantle will Demand Richmonds 2 firsts. No matter what we have to give back
They can demand all they like but he's not under contract and if he requests a trade your list of demands become irrelevant.

I've said it before if he nominates Richmond, it's up to us to give your fair compensation, not to hand over both firsts jist cos you want them. Our first is 7 and we have plenty of later picks. No chance we'd give up both firsts, despite what freo 'demands'.

A bit of similar scenario when Bolton walks out the door I guess?

Why has the talk moved from Carlton to Richmond?

Shai Bolton + a 1st seems reasonable

Yes identical if that was to happen.....

Geez freo fans are up and about all of a sudden.

I'm just scanning the media and I can't find the same media coverage of Bolton being out of contract as I can Cerra. Surely Bolton has been offered big deals by other clubs just like Cerra and remains out of contract just like Cerra so I just wanted to check if the same logic applies for Bolton?

Bolton's ahead of Cerra but does have an extra year of development. Last year at the same stage in their careers Bolton averaged 15 disposals and 0.8 goals a game so I'd consider their value close to equal.

Just clecking as a point of reference for a Cerra trade whether the Tigers would take pick 7 for Bolton?

Do you live in WA perhaps? There's been plenty.

Bolton spent his first 3 years as a scrawny forward pocket and the youngest player taken in the draft from memory so I wouldn't read too much into that. His trajectory since moving into the middle has been exceptional.

But yes, same logic applies to any uncontracted player that nominates a club.
