AFL Club
Collingwood
Due to the detrimental effect that his external issues are having on his playing ability, IMO Whitnall will secede the captaincy to Stevens before round 5.
As opposed to Whitnall, Stevens has shone in his last 6 matches with the club.
This should happen asap to allow Whitnall to concentrate on his football, if you look at the vision of the game, Stevens was talking at the huddles anyway.

Funnily enough, they were saying on one of those footy shows last night that Nick Stevens was hard done by in the captaincy stakes...

How could you pick someone who didnt want to play for your club as the captain? He specifically asked for Collingwood...

Yeah. A normal footballer would have bolted from Port far earlier.

Good on him, he missed out on something he will never experience playing in a Carlton jumper :thumbsu:

the ball had taken out a restraining order on lance on sunday night he wasn't allowed to come within 50 meters of it

I can tell you straight out that he doesnt give a rats clacker about the 04 premiership, he was just happy to get back to victoria and didnt care two hoots about what he missed out on at Port.

Can't believe nobody has :thumbsu: :thumbsu: you yet. That is nice work.

Blues have an impressive leadership group on and off field. Sharing the load beautifully. Whitnall, Stevo, Kouts, Lapp, Fev etc are all doing a fine job.

I can see Murphy becoming Captain in 2-3 years time and being a 300 game 5 time premiership captain.

Just needs a couple more seasons under the belt.

Fair enough with the captaincy thing - looks a mature player already on and off the park and should be the man in a couple of years

As for the 5 premierships, unless you are going to put him in Dr Who's Tartis? and send him back in time you are dreaming. Carlton are at least 5 years away from even being a flag contender and even that is dependent upon getting some decent players from the next couple of drafts as they still have gaping deficiencies in their line up that will not be fixed in the next 2-3 years

No that is incorrect. Our present list is the most impressive in the comp in relation to where it will be in a few years. No gaping deficiencies, but i assume you are not overly familiar with our list. You haven't heard Parrot speak of Aisake, Jacobs, Hampson, Grigg, Anderson, Bower, Hartlett etc Shame on you.

I stopped reading when you quoted Parrot.

:D

All he needs to do is think of the ball as his brothers head, that should make him hungrier for a kick of the footy.

Whitnall has got a 5-0 record as Captain. :p

Never looked at it that way HBF, I guess if his going to keep it like that I think any club in the AFL we'll take him. When this sort of talk was going on early 2007 I was a strong Stevens campaigner and to see his efforts so far off & onfield i have yet to change my mind. Family issues may be the blame in conjunction with the knee injury but I am still questionable about his leadership qualities.
