While I think weitering is a great player, he is no where near a champion.Champions like Weiters never stay down for too long. 5 quarters he’d like to forget but he’s absolutely in the conversation.
Weitering had 3 kicked on him in 15 mins and had the supply continued to be good, he could have been facing a very tough night, but alas for the Saints their mids were pretty average and failed to help King. He has had 9 goals kicked on him the past 2 weeks. While I think weitering is a great player, he is no where near a champion.
If you changed your supported club to west coast, that would almost be the nicest thing a WCE fan has said about their midfield this yearNic Nat ranked first in the AFL Player Ratings. What a colossal fail the weagles midfield is when you have that silver service.

This is what Carlton supporters have been banging on about for two years. Weitering and Jones get put under the pump more then any other KPD because we have allowed such easy ball into our forward line. The supply what King got after quarter time and the support given to Weitering is what the majority of defenders in half decent sides get consistently. That’s why those two have to contest one out more then anyone else and can get goals kicked on them but still play really well. Weitering had 14 intercept possessions so I’d take that over the three goals King kicked on him.Weitering had 3 kicked on him in 15 mins and had the supply continued to be good, he could have been facing a very tough night, but alas for the Saints their mids were pretty average and failed to help King. Putting aside my own bias, Walsh is a lock for AA, will probably be Captain, and on the way to becoming the greatest player of all time.Does Walsh have a spot locked up after that performance? I’m asking cause I do have biased tendencies so I’m asking non Carlton supporters
McCluggage
McCluggage
Amon. Even Langdon has been better. But basically about 10-15 mids could and probably will be put on the wing. I put Menegola on the same level as a Bailey Smith who played a lot of wing this year. But not AA calibre.

In Neale‘s absence Mathieson has been playing inside not McCluggageMccluggage has played inside mid all year in Neale's absence, you don't watch much footy.
If players like Andrews who have been the highest ranking defenders in the AFL this season aren’t getting rated on here Wieters has a hard time getting rated again this season after the last couple of weeksChampions like Weiters never stay down for too long. 5 quarters he’d like to forget but he’s absolutely in the conversation.

Very poor early and lucky not to have gifted King with a few more frees later.
Two young kpf's have shown him up in two weeks. For me he does not make the squad and certainly not the 22.
Happy to put a wager on it if you’re that confident and not trolling? Will make the squad with ease. It is anyone’s guess after that.
Nope, if you bothered to read I qualified by beginning the sentence "For me". The Melbourne media pity party will probably get him the squad.
I think he was already in before last nights game to be honestDoes Walsh have a spot locked up after that performance? I’m asking cause I do have biased tendencies so I’m asking non Carlton supporters
If Weitering is a champion then the word 'champion' has lost all meaningChampions like Weiters never stay down for too long. 5 quarters he’d like to forget but he’s absolutely in the conversation.
He had some easy marks though, sometimes he was standing on his own in the goalsquare and they kicked it straight to him. The Saints mids are ordinary and didn't give their forwards much decent supply. BTW the defence under most pressure is Collingwood's as the Pies have the worst midfield on average and even ones considered decent like Adams struggle to hit the side of a barn.Weitering dominated for three and half quarters, had more marks than any other player on the ground, the 2nd most kicks, and was a key stakeholder in most of our launches from defence.
Was again one of the highest ranked players on the ground, and will likely get coaches for the game. Could not be any more pencilled in at this stage.
Gun.
Walsh and McKay also continued on their merry way to AA guernseys.
I think it reinforces where Port Adelaide sits in the premiership race, that we really have only one contender for an AA spot.
He will make the squad but the positions in the AA actual team for defence are tight. It's as competitive as the midfield.Very poor early and lucky not to have gifted King with a few more frees later.

Yep. There’s some elite key backs going for spots. Weitering is obviously a very good player and had a good offensive game last night but he is getting quite a lot of goals kicked on him. That can’t be ignored just because he took intercept marks. He will make the squad but the positions in the AA actual team for defence are tight. It's as competitive as the midfield.
