Also on Clarkson (again), I know the AFL have no banned the practice, but does anyone else have an issue with Clarko and his brutal boxing training practices putting one of his young players out for a while with concussion ?.
Maybe not an real problem now that the AFL have banned it, but I still think it's worth discussing in the debate of the pros and cons of hiring Clarko.
I believe the catch phrase was “Number 5 is alive”. My guess is Whomever no.5 is (Judd, Buckley, Teague was born 5/5/80), is alive in relation to the coaching race, or in Judd’s case, still alive on the board.Johnny 5?
I don't get it.
Yep has to be Clarkson, looks like Ian Aitken’s reconstructed face from 87.....Angry little sh*t? has to be clarkson

Not a big fan but given it is now outlawed it is not in the discussion. Also on Clarkson (again), I know the AFL have no banned the practice, but does anyone else have an issue with Clarko and his brutal boxing training practices putting one of his young players out for a while with concussion ?.

Club has not offered LOB a new contract (according to The Age)
Reckon he is on the way out even if Clarkson comes on board as coach (club is probably just playing him to increase his possible trade value imo)
NFI TBHSo fu** all to do with Steve Darui.......
Or Cerra (No. 5). Or premiership number 5 Clarkson.

Everybody does. They're a dud rootI hate turnips...
Every afternoon on SEN he sound half cutI'll be honest and say I was taking a bit of the urine with calling Derm a respected commentator.
His special comments in the SA Showdown was eccentric to say the least (talking about making documentaries on how to tackle lol)
Think he probably had one too many Shandies during the day![]()
Great postI forget who on the radio said this, but I think it’s a valid point (yes, I was shocked too) - Clarkson was most effective when he had a strong cast of characters around him, eg Dunstall, Pelchen early on, then Wright, Fagan etc, never mind all the assistant coaches. Point being that some of the more questionable list decisions over recent years may be the result of there being a lack of challenging opinions in the footy dept.
I took it as a good pointer that if Clarkson does come over, I hope the review and subsequent outcomes ensure there’s appropriate respect and authority for other senior footy dept roles, via a footy boss who isn’t overawed by him. Because I’m pretty sure the board will be.
Clarko could just play the Milburn KOs SOS video every pregame session and the let the boys savage him as a warmupWhatever the cost, we must be better. Milburn it is!

Would be interested to know if it was someone with either knowledge of this situation or someone previously connected with him or the club.I forget who on the radio said this, but I think it’s a valid point (yes, I was shocked too) - Clarkson was most effective when he had a strong cast of characters around him, eg Dunstall, Pelchen early on, then Wright, Fagan etc, never mind all the assistant coaches. Well he could just send a text, it's pretty common these days. But he needs to understand that people are pretty judgemental so even if nobody says anything to him about it, it happened.Age reporting board meeting this Thurs where board will see the review and make a call on the coach
Won't be made public immediately
Reading between the lines it seems MLG doesn't want to personally sack a third coach
Hence they'll postpone making it public
Of course you can. Not a holdback after the contract ends, but certainly while the contract is active. You couldn't have non-compete in an industry as small as AFL. Surely not.
So fu** all to do with Steve Darui.......
Reflects terribly on MLG that he would have sacked 3 coaches. He simply hasn't been successful at finding the right coach. It all comes back to the board.
