I would be very surprised if people in the media would back off from saying things the club doesn't like all because Teague spoke back to them.

What bothers you that the media have said? Surely not Cornes?

Not to mention all because idiots say things doesn't mean you have to respond to them.

Side-note I ******* despise the word SLAMMED, SLAMS in media headlines.
great point and borderline thread-worthy - outrage, shock, tragic, heartbreak (these last 2 after a social media person's dog gets sick) influencer, rocked, chilling, fury, outcry.............plenty of others.........

more importantly, does anyone know what the effect on the player was? the consequences, how much this latest round of hatred hurt him and his team-mates regardless of heritage........
Fair call.

I actually had this same reaction to that guy from Hawthorn who quit because of what he said to a woman. I had to know what he said. The vagueness of the story was killing me.

Funnily enough, I did find out exactly what he said, but I've since completely forgotten it. So I feel like I can let my curiosity go now, since I'm likely to forget the specifics by the end of the year anyway.

Yes, I'm an idiot. But at least I'm a self aware idiot. [emoji28]

I could be wrong but I don't really put Richmonds success down to Hardwick. There's a reason despite success he's not talked about at the same level of Clarkson.

I think he's a pillar, not the architect. Clarkson was the architect. Obviously he was the right pillar for them, can't argue that.
Well, the architect just got shown the door.

Nah. Can't agree with that at all.

Don't like the bloke (especially for the reasons of his marriage breakup) but credit where credit is due
You don't become a triple premiership coach on luck.

Didn't put it down to luck.

I like his man management and relationship building, the list is obviously very close, but I don't credit him massively for the gameplay or list building.

Particularly in relation to state borders. Every time one is closed, it is SLAMMED shut.

A press conference at 10am announcing that a border will close at midnight is not a ****ing slamming.

If I took 14 hours to close a door, my family would have me medically examined.

The exception to this is McGowan. He does slam.

How would you know who is responsible for Richmond’s game plan?

Taylor Walker is as dumb as a box of nails.
He’s obviously made a massive mistake.
I can’t imagine how his victim feels......terrible most likely.
His career is now on the precipice
So, what is the outcome that everyone is seeking?
Its seems the media are going as hard as possible, and I would be very concerned about his mental health.
I think everyone needs to tread very carefully on both sides.

He'll do the 6 match ban, likely do some volunteering or something in that regard in the off-season, play out 2022 and might go on after that but depends what AFC wants to do.

Expected the written apology but not the above video, don't know if that was forced on him or his initiative but good first step.

As for media, I can't imagine it'll be anything more in the next few weeks.

Possibly. Like a great many AFL players.

But...his horrendous error has seen a huge level of scrutiny, and he's done his best to meet it.

No one...no group...benefits if we condemn individuals forever and always. His response has been deep and real...I certainly believed the bit in the stands tonight, and I'm the most cynical bloke I know.

No winners, but plenty of good can come from it.

Was a bit weird to watch to be honest.

Hopefully good comes from it, but the media seem to be baying for blood.
Just hope they don’t push it to far.
