LoB wont be at the club next year. He is a bust. Would be gross mismanagement if he is offered a contract. He is not even worthy of steak knives.

Why is it "gross mismanagement" to offer a contract to a 22 year old former top 10 pick?

i was there that day, on the other side of the ground from the bench. I seriously thought someone was going to jump the fence. And if one did, 1000 would have followed.

alongside a home spurs crowd trailing arsenal in a NLD, it was the ugliest, highest potential for violence crowd I’ve ever been in.

EDIT - and just to be clear I am most definitely NOT a Spurs fan.
I was there too, about 10 rows back from the interchange bench. Milburn did his best to inflame the situation with his antics. Justin Murphy looked like he wanted to swap teams like in under 12's.

There were 2 brothers who were regulars who got really aggressive, banging their fists on top of the perspex above Milburn. The Geelong bench were shitting themselves. Rex was doing the game and he was going off his head - I still don't know whether I was hearing him from someone's trans, or directly from the press box up behind us.

Edit: radio, if the abbreviation for transistor is not allowed.

Letting him go for nothing if he wants to stay would be gross mismanagement when you look at the rest of the list.

He has shown enough especially playing in AFL the last few weeks that there are definite AFL qualities, in an area we don't have great coverage in (pure winger)

Assuming he wants to stay. He's the type that should be given a 1 year contract. Then he's got a year to prove himself with a new coach.

He may fizzle out. but he's shown enough to indicate he has more chance of being an AFL level player than someone drafted at pick 90

Can somewhere please spare a thought for what the players are going through?

I mean they have to play bad enough to get their coach sacked, but well enough that a new coach won't want to trade them.

Very tough times...
It's a dance Carlton players have become experts in over the last 15 years or so, unfortunately...

Things will accelerate now that finals are 100% out of the equation. If Teague already doesn't know, he'll have an inkling of what fate awaits him and with his recent comments in having belief in himself, showing a little more personality, trying to be positive, just feels like a last ditched attempt to salvage what is/has slipped away.

Pavlich looked all happy and smiley on the telecast last night..... wish during the storm delay instead of faffing on about storms and other rubbish Eddie could've at least asked about the review.

I’m not so sure as everyone else seems to be about prospect of clarko. Yes he did extremely well at hawks but they had a lot of things going well at the time. They got a lot of genuine stars in around that time. Very well run club.

Is it going to magically translate to success at blues? I’m not so sure.

We’ve just done a review so how about we allow time for the review outputs to be corrected first. Ie fix whatever footy department issues there may be first. Maybe better to chase a very good HoF first and go from there.

Coz he is not good enough for senior football perhaps ?
And who, of our list is better suited to playing wing?

There's an argument for Walsh - but I believe he does his best work on the inside, with Dow/Cripps/Kennedy feeding it to him.

Newnes for sure accumulates more than LOB - but is way, way less damaging with ball in hand, generally slows the play down. Newnes is an OK link up player in a very good Football side, but not good enough to be the winger you play through IMO.

Cottrell can run, but LOB runs faster and harder IMO. Cottrell shocking with ball in hand, like Newnes in terms of decision making and poorer in terms of execution.

Williamson is an option, but wouldn't have him infront of LOB as a Winger.

Docherty is a viable option for sure, so is Saad - but they likely play their best footy down back.

Nice try mate.

He's trolling mate.

Based on what?

Looked pretty good at times through years one and two. Lost his way in year three. Looked very good in one of three games in year four.

I'm not a huge LOB fan but the kid has hardly had a chance over the past 12 months.

So no. Giving him another year in what will hopefully be a more normal one wouldn't come close to being classified as gross mismanagement. Far closer to that would be picking all these young talented kids and kicking them out the door because we're not capable of developing them properly.

The thing with Clarko becoming coach is that it removes the unknown of “is it the players or the coach?” (IMO). Clarko is nowhere near past it - he’s proven that many times this year IMO.

If he comes in and we’re still sh*t = rebuild 3.0
Agreed, there's been a handful of wins over the last couple years they had no right winning yet somehow pulled them out. You can never be sure about a Hawthorn result with Clarkson in charge no matter who they're playing. He's the reason they haven't completely bottomed out imo

I'm not sure Clarkson would immediately turn the club/players around. He's said himself in the past that a big thing to him his building trust between him and the players. It's hard to build that sort of relationship quickly, so I doubt we'll get to round 1 next year and suddenly be a top 4 contender. Having said that we'd still be better, with the standards he'll set we'll already be ahead.

Anyway, my point is that the real benefit will come once the players develop that trust in the coach and the coach the trust in the players and that sort of thing doesn't build in one off-season. Once they learn what Clarkson is about and Clarkson learns what gets certain players ticking then we'll go places.

I have a hunch that he’d do better elsewhere, especially Sydney.
