The way this current board is searching for a new coach whilst Teague is still there has sickened me. It's a basket case yet again.
Too many cooks!
No wonder why we struggle to attract high quality people without the cheque book being our nugget.
#Bluemour not so bluemour
Nick Maxwell?I can't say I'm thrilled with the rumour of Leppitsch as Head of Football.
The role has more responsibilities (admittedly administrative) than head coach.
There'd be hiring and firing. Ultimately in charge of fitness, training, player welfare. Staying on top of list management and salary cap, mediating between coach and recruiters, mediating between the ceo and coach, presenting to the board. And so much more.
You'd need vision, strategy, leadership, people skills, operational and administration competence.
I don't know Leppitsch from a bar of soap. He was a gun player and has some (assistant) coaching chops. I can't put my finger on it, but something just doesn't feel right with him being proposed as Footy Manager. Maybe I'm not convinced he's got the CV/skills to match the job.
And before you ask, I don't have any better suggestions. Might need to ruminate further on this one.
The whole Teague situation hasn’t been handled well true. But you can’t tell me every other club wouldn’t be doing the same thing and looking and asking questions under the table.
He'd stay at Swans unless he was moving up. We'd have to offer football manager role. Also mentioned that Pyke wasn't interested so could be him too.
We'll ignore winning 4 premierships in 17 years aswell shall we?2017 - 12th
2018 - 4th
2019 - 9th
2020 - 15th
2021 - 14th
Can't wait....

If Clarkson is still a chance.... and Ross and Voss is the back up.
Gee we are set to drastically improve our coaching set up.
He can drop the charade about a chat with Lethal being the inflection point to his interest. If Lyon has already locked up the job, he fooled me with his performance tonight.
Teague is regimented, delusional and plays favourites....

No one can argue about Clarkson. But ask the Freo players what they thought of Lyon and his game plan in his last couple of years. Have a look at how their club has quickly turned around since he left, backing in their young coach. If it is Lyon, after the honeymoon period is over, our supporters will be calling for his head, guaranteed!
He speaks well in the media and has shown me has the footy IQ and experience required to take a role like this one.I can't say I'm thrilled with the rumour of Leppitsch as Head of Football.

If you pressed me, honestly I think I'd stick with Teague, change the footy admin that's clearly been substandard and reshuffle the line coaches.
I still haven't seen enough to tell me if David is actually not going to work out
