From a supply and demand position it makes sense, a lot of blues fans out there clicking links and engaging, drives traffic and eyeballs on ads.
True. I just wish there was some kind of accountability for some of the ridiculous statements and opinions made by these so called experts.

Similar to that Wayne Carey take that was aired recently when he suggested Carlton trade the number 1 pick (Walsh) for Tom Bugg and some other list clogger.

Regardless of the head coaching call, a huge 2022 looms for Dow, O’Brien, SPS, Fisher & Setterfield. None have ever nailed a full time role. All have been in-out either due to form or injury.

I would say not one of them has shown they can play a full 4 quarter game if AFL footy and be in the best 3-4 on the ground.

Our next midfield coach will be a critical appointment as these players really will decide if our list goes one way or the other.

SPS and Setterfield have both done it in the past - but yeah, no more than 3-4 times between them.

Rumor has it that the AFL is offering Clarko huge bucks to head Gold Coast's football department on the proviso he gets to spend the time with his family that he wants to.

Gut feel has it that we shouldn't count out GWS...

There is nothing spectacular about Fisher.
SPS deserved a game in the middle last night.
Don't know about that. He's pulled off some spectacular evasive moves and quick, clever goals.

The other side to this is Fisher can rely too much on the evasive stuff and can get himself into a tangle. Needs less icing, more cake.

I was chastised by a moderator for my comments at the start of the season about Saad being a more effective recruit than Williams.
Happy to be right.

I don't even have to know what was said to believe that it probably didn't go down exactly that way. Could it be you were less than constructive where Williams was concerned?

LOBs kicking is a weapon we can’t afford to lose.

Train him with focus on physicality and we have a complete player...an A grader
Also train the rest of the team in how to use a weapon.

Exactly. Why can Geelong develop rookies/later picks but consistently have their most highly rated draft picks and most talented young players fail?
I don’t think we are any good at developing players but I also think we naturally overrate every kid who walks through the doors so end up disappointed a lot.
I think a lot of it comes down to the players mental state and this is something we perhaps don’t place a big importance off.
It goes back to what Leppitch raised early this year how Richmond look for a certain type of player. The mental strength to succeed.
They’d take a less talented player with the right mental state, where I think we may be the opposite

If that’s the case, he’ll chill out next season and earn a sloppy $900k, then step into a role where even if he fails, it won’t be a major deal since they’ve always been a basket case anyway. All while earning huge coin.

Honestly can’t say I blame him for going that route. He’s already legend status, and has nothing more to gain by taking another coaching role going through all the stress.

smart bloke Hayes, who would want to move to Melbourne right now…
You do realise that Lenny is with gws, based in a city that is in total lockdown? They have had to re locate to Melbourne to be even able to play matches.

In terms of covid the choice is the devil or the deep blue sea.

No he is not. He left GWS in 2020.

Saad no doubt has changed the way he has gone about it since the media has highlighted some of the poorer defensive efforts.

I think he has been let down by a lack of system & coverage most of the times which has made him look worse defensively and quelled his natural attacking flair.

Improve the system, have rules around coverage for him, teach better positioning at D50 stoppages and encourage his strengths and we will have the damaging player we were hoping for.
Saad is always the guy sprinting over to help his team mates when a team slingshots from defence which is a lot. He has a genuine crack. Saad has not been the problem

How about that simple snap goal he missed? Just seems to me like he hasn't put his whole game together. Not sure if its confidence or development. But given how many years he's been in the system he should be kicking those
