Being a relatively new member in this community and trying to understand the whole dynamic with the 'ITKs', I am not sure how excited I should let myself become after reading so many positive posts about Clarkson and what looks to be a cleanout of the footy department.

Based on the current excitement level and actual historical hit rate when news like this is shared, on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being take it the bank it is happening/ ), how excited can I get?

It's a rumour, don't treat it as going to happen. Treat it like a weather report from a very dodgy weatherman; sure, it's based on a read of the upper atmosphere and historical conditions and sure the bloke's got a degree, but on the other hand he's been having a lot of long lunches recently and looks half full on national television.

1. Both Dylan Shiel and Tim Kelly were top shelf mids when traded. Cerra is not a top shelf mid when traded.
2. Both trades backfired badly on their constituent clubs; Tim Kelly is a shadow of the player he was at Geelong, and Shiel is best known for misskicks at Essendon.

If they think they're getting much more than a first round pick, they're sorely mistaken.

3. The picks in the Tim Kelly trade were all outside of the top 10 and the Shiel deal had picks going back the other way.

Tim Kelly really hasnt shown much at the Eagles , in fact i cant recall him playing at all this season. Perhaps he has been struggling with injury.

Geelong certainly won out with the Kelly trade.
