Eldest son is close with a sibling of a current listed Carlton player. Eldest son asked sibling what currently listed Carlton player thought of Voss being appointed.
Sibling said players already had an online meeting with Voss and were super impressed with what and how he said things. Came across as genuine and Voss stated that if you're deserving of a game based on form, you will play irrespective of how long you've been at the club. That's how it was when he played, that's how it is at Port and that's how it needs to be here. Younger players enjoyed hearing this and are keen to show their worth to him.
For it to be said and then be repeated by your sons friend it must of been a problem that came out in the review ..
because you would think this would be normal procedure in any competitive environment ..

I think this was easily the most glaring issue with Teagues tenure - everyone knew it, well almost everyone. Some took a fair bit of convincing.

After reading how Goodwin and Choko change the culture at Melbourne I so want this for Carlton really badly. I would love for Vossy be doing something like this in the background to prepare the boys when they turn up for pre-season training. I don't want to see or hear any kid gloves. Its pull your head in or go to the seconds. We still do have a seconds don't we?

Wait till we have a run of losses and or supporters favourite players aren't in the side, selection criteria will start all over again

I would be willing to bet that some supporters favourite players wont be in the 22 come round 1. I reckon the round 1 team will be quite a bit different to what most are thinking it will be.

Well if my favourite players are not pulling their weight I don't want them in the team and I'll find another fav player.
One of my favourite players of a few years ago, dropped off so badly that he was an anchor to the team and was no longer a favourite of myself or others. Sadly he remained a favourite of the coach and kept his spot to the detriment of both the team and the developing youth.

I don't mind if my favourites aren't playing, as long as the favourites of others are earning their spots.

Hi Coach. Harden us up please, Scott Burns style.

Port BnF - pretty well everyone that has mentioned Voss (nearly every speech ) has talked about how much of a positive effect he's had on the culture within the team
but but.........game plan............assistants...........brisbane............daylight saving???

Man, I am hoping that honeymoon period where a new coaches led to a wins in their first games and doesn't burnt out in the preseason

A rnd 1 loss would be so deflating. lol

On another note, Ricky Nixon used to be Voss's manager - I wonder if Voss can lure him back in to the fold?

Has anyone ever seen this before? Stefan Martin completely snubs a handshake from his coach back in the day.

Remember when Voss the Boss slayed Essington in the 2001 Grand Final than doubled up in the next 2 years over The Filth ?

If he doesn't have Navy Blue blood running through his veins, I will go He.

Gonna watch those Lions flags on Kayo this weekend (got nothing else to do plus no Premier League on)

I'm Excited for 2022 and beyond, Big Kev style

If interested, watch the AFL ondemand doco on Leigh Matthews. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
