Media Much Tindoo About Nothing? New SOFU Team Already Talks Of Expansion (And Other News)

This thread brought to you by my goddamned right because the forum's already full of crap so who gives a **** anymore.

With a league-record-equalling 7 inductees already on the books, the Tindoo & Tanoca Barracudas are laying the groundwork to propose a more localised competition for future seasons - all based around the oceanside industries of the town.

Comprising a couple of teams out of the major centre, the existing Shawmindo Bullsharks from Old Tindoo, and giving Tanoca it's own team across the valley, a new competition would feature four teams of it's own, indeed perhaps as many as five, if the upper valley are also to be encouraged to participate.

Currently only two teams represent Langendrian interests in the footy landscape, which locals believe shortchanges the potential spoused by the T&T population.

Tindoo town council were too busy to talk to the SOFU Flute, but they did have their kids draw some shitty artwork to depict their vision of future Qooty in the region.

Local identity Rand Omgeneratedface spoke to the SOFU Flute today:

"We have a good population and it's been on the up all last year. The industries here: fishing and trawling, create a sustainability you just don't see on the east coast. We are comfident that a more localised regional league is well within our scope. A four or five team league is definitely very possible, but we have an entire season to see how the commitment of the town measures up."

The sustainable industry of the east coast.

Difficulties could arise if the Tindoo proposition gets up, as such a change would further splinter the other two regions of the SOFU, with Calinnisen's Lirmi & Garn being located a substantial distance from the Yuanian centres. The Tindoo region had offered a perfect link between the two end of the SOFY landscape. Competition organisers already see risks sprouting from the talk of a football secession. None were able to answer queries, however, as I'm the only one and I'm not keen in talking in the third person, especially not to someone who is also me in the first.

The inaugural SOFU season starts March 12, and hopes to offer a low-key alternative to players who can't be ****ed reading shit like this very blight on the forum right here.

There was no way my attention span was going to read all of that.

it's not aimed at those without an attention span. This is the perfect filter!

Don’t expand too fast, the SFA can’t afford both a Gold Coast and GWS type set up.
Yeah it's just Tindoo flexing. They wouldn't survive on their own if a split happened. Just posturing from the south-western region. NOFU or IRFU would be more likely to start up before the SOFU split.

From the SOFU Flute - Lirmi's Internal Rift

Over in the south-east in Calinnisen, Lirmi are already experiencing some inner conflict as the nickname of the club - the Honeyjackets - has come under fire.

Local construction company head Pickitt has recently queried the veracity of the Yellowjackets as an appropriate name for the new Lirmi team, stating that attire of lemon or lemonesque complexion is entirely inappropriate for outdoor events, easy to collect grit and difficult to launder.

When the Flute visited the offices of Pickitt to ask what would be a more tenable nickname for the club, he responded by saying nothing. Sorry, I'll read that again. He responded by saying "nothing".

Aghast, our journalist ran screaming from the interview, convinced that a club without the nickname surely spelled the beginning of the end, as well as the end of the middle and the left-hand side of centre.

Discussions at Not Pickitt Arena Cos He Didn't Like That Name continue, and it is hoped that a resolution can be found before season start on March 11. Lirmi recruits Fizzler , Adza and Pickitt himself will be watching the news (and themselves) closely.

I want Lirmi FFC.
If not nickname will be L's

Nah, the L is invisible, so it'll be Lirmi FFC.
Other than it not being a nickname what is your issue with lirmi ffc
I guess you're just trolling me. There's no issue at all with Lirmi FFC. Each of the 7 billion times you have said Lirmi FFC, I have confirmed that it is already the club's name.

So no nickname?
Edit: Im fine with a nickname, just I'd rather the official name seen in the graphics be Lirmi FFC and that's it

Hang on, are we finally working out what's happening here ...

So you have no problem with the nickname at all, you just don't want it to appear on the graphic?

That's fine. These aren't official logos for the clubs. They are placeholder graphics simply so I can help get their brand out there, when I spam something. I just wanted each team name, each mascot, and each colour scheme to be visible whenever I added the graphics to a post here or on the other platforms.

These graphics are very scratched up, I'm not graphic artist. I just googled images for each relevant animal / icon and stuck them in a box in MS Paint. Better logos are actually on their way, a pal is making them! But if you don't like what they come up with, you can over-ride yours if you make your own (or go to the graphics board and ask someone to make one!).

Hello

I saw this last week - a copy of a Beckett telegram to James Joyce on his birthday. "Teems of times" - could be the motto of one of your teams.

The donation from Joyce’s grandson includes a telegram from Samuel Beckett, wishing the Ulysses author a happy 49th birthday

Yellowjackets is still strange to me, but it's OKAY, I just don't want it to be in any graphics, more a literal nickname that people use.

Did I already send this or no? It was in my text box of this thread

This is the first time you sent it. Graphics commonly include nicknames. However nicknames started in footy as just a randomthing which only got more visibility due to their usage in the passage of time.

New logo set will be released later today when I get back from the docs where I'm off to get my booster today.

Zoning Confusion Set To Leave The Greens Undersupplied

This article first appeared in the Roys FFC v Mt Buller S33R03 match thread here on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

SOFU masterminus Melvyn Ogilvie Bbenfuhrer spoke today about concerns with local qootball zones around the Shea region.

I'll be meeting with the local elders at Kudykina who have some zoning rule queries about the Northern Division of the SOFU. They are very clearly located within Shea's zone and it should be a no-brainer, however they consider themselves more a part of the same wilderness that comprises the Upper Tanoca Valley - this association leads the locals to identify more with the Tindoo people. Indeed, their culture and society seems somehow to be more in-tune with the southerners.

We need to find a resolution, as Kudykina has some good qootballers, and it's important to let them know where they'll be playing. The options will obviously be to stand by the Shea zone limits, to enable an exception in this case based on connections with Tanoca Valley, or to do the former, but enable a clearance system which would apply on a seasonal basis as opposed to a week-by-week loan function. Some of the Kudykina guys don't have much exposure to English, so I'll enlist MoscowHawk to help with translations.

While I am out at Kudykina and Shea, it will also be a good opportunity for me to stop by the Granica people in Ibarawa. No zoning problems here (of the qootball kind), but there might be some qisa issues. In a general sense, the Ibarawine and the Hindeallans are allowed free commute between the two nations without a passport, but a qisa still needs to be available in the case that border security feel a need to do a spot check. Not all the Granica players have a visa, and indeed nor do all the rest of the SOFU. So I want to assess the possibility of a dedicated matchday pass which can be issued on the basis of a registered league log and some alternative yet sufficient proof of identity.

The real hope is to temporarily (and clearly only in terms of recreational events!) relabel Granica as a satellite town of the Hindealla borderlands for a Saturday - which would over-ride the need for a quisa, or any other p.i.d., at all. I am not confident, but we can at least lay out the roadmap and see where people yelp in consternation. The dedicated matchday temp qisa will be the back-up plan, and it should be a much smoother ride should we go that route.
