Yeah that was an absolute shocker! Brisbane ended up losing that game by 5 points. Decisions like that have the ability to change games.

Yeah they've just gone overboard. I'm not a fan of soccer, but at least they keep the rules consistent. Steve Hocking has a lot to answer for!

It is nothing other than a combination of covid breaking the circuit and giving people a chance to experience life without footy, and the product and its leadership stinking it up.

Cant imagine why no one cares about a tin pot league ran purely for the benefit of victorian millionaires, headed up by former AFL players and coaches with very little actual real world experience. The joint is run by 50 year olds on work experience.

It literally ticks every box of shitness for a sport. Bad officiating, bad governance, bad product, bad coverage, extreme bias to one area of the country etc. Etc.

Probably just a natural progression to a television audience without the population ie Europe or USA to continue with high crowd levels.

Also what TeeKray said. Working class will easily drop live attendance to footy as it is a luxury expense now.

Part of it has to do with the nonsense rule changes which have made it impossible for umpires. Get rid of the stupidest one to start, the stand rule, and crowds will start trending upwards again.

The bigger part though is we are just coming out of a global pandemic. Its gonna take time.

• more match day "events"
• better and louder sound effects and songs after goals
• bring back the Zooper goals!
• more interchanges and an expanded bench so we can have our players run faster for longer!
• umpires get to give one 100m penalty per game just to spice things up

Mark my words! When the TV revenues start to fall, wages throughout the industry will also start to fall and the league will go back to being semi-professional. It‘s just one of the effects of Covid-19.
