Controversial I know but going off the second half of the year I would prefer to keep Dunkley and lose Smith. Dunks has definitely shown more will and interest to perform.

They can walk him to the PSD and get him for free. Why would they give up anything, when PSD will make him free.

I don't think clubs can really do that. The AFL expects clubs to try to find an equitable trade and has been called in to mediate in some instances. I'm not really sure how effective that is or what they would do if a club was offering significant Unders in a trade but they'd have to put something forward.

His dad obviously feels like his loyalty to Sydney wasn't rewarded late in his career and now has a mindset that you've just got to look after yourself.
Josh probably has a reasonable offer from us and might be happy to stay but it's seeing if other clubs will offer more. I'd imagine he'd come back to us once he's got the best offer to see if we'll match it.

I get the impression he haggles everything to ensure he gets the MOST out of his contract. I don’t think he is entertaining other clubs, but his manager using the interest to add pressure.

I doubt we can/want to match his best offer. It probably depends how far apart we are and how much value he puts on that.

It's interesting to consider that with Collingwood paying a fair chunk of the contract, we might actually be over the cap theoretically.

There is no way Daicos will be a more valuable player than Darcy. Talls are meant to take years. Darcy will be ready (dominating) in 12-24 months. Every recruiter would kill for that.

Would be insane if we were to land Pick 1. That would be JUH, and Darcy could very well end up being the best player from last year's draft (maybe apart from Daicos). Baz could end up being the best mid from his draft. Our future would be sorted.

If Dunks is linked to North any chance we could have a dig at McKay?

There is no way Daicos will be a more valuable player than Darcy. Talls are meant to take years. Darcy will be ready (dominating) in 12-24 months. Every recruiter would kill for that.

It’s funny with Darcy because his body probably won’t be ready for years - but he’s just such a ridiculously good mark and so tall that he can already be a weapon on that single part of his game.

It’s so funny to watch him not even get off the ground but just stick his hands up and his reach is above everyone on the field no matter how high they jump, and then they just stick like glue

Wait til he has confidence in his body (he’s coming off a bloody stress fracture in his foot ffs and is already doing this???) and the strength to launch himself in the pack whilst under pressure from his opponent.

Will be genuinely unstoppable, I actually don’t think there’s anyone whose going to be able to stop him?

No I’m sure we’re not. The deal was we’d take him if Collingwood paid a third of his salary. They did try to wriggle out of it but we had them over a barrel .

I think Amon is more likely than not to receive an end of 1st round pick, but we'll see. And I'd personally expect Dunkley's market value to be somewhere in the low-mid teens, as much as we probably value him higher than that. Very happy to be wrong though.

Additionally, if we're dealing with Port alone, we might not achieve what we think he's worth given he's uncontracted and a deal will need to get done if he requests a trade.

Don't have to deal with Port PSD is no threat too high up for that. If they want him they need to pony up.
He isn't going to go PSD Norf would take him in a heart beat.
S Power is not in the habit of rolling over and Port doesn't have sufficient leverage in this case. Pay up or go please yourself

We don't require leverage we I would imagine be happy to welcome him back into the fold again if a deal can't be done
