Traded Jason Horne-Francis [to Port Adelaide in multi-club trade]

Are GWS looking to use picks 3, 12, 15, 18 and 19 purely for the draft? Or do they want to get some players in via trade?

Maybe we could upgrade pick 33 or 43 for one those later picks and offer up Byrne-Jones or Bonner?

We genuinely need to trade away a player for 2nd round. Can't see it happening another way.

Hayes, Drew, Bonner, DBJ, Farrell. DBJ with most value in that lot perhaps as an All-Australian and club BnF although he was off it best this year. I know he just resigned but yeah either him or Drew

In all seriousness North have actually done fine out of this deal. So have West Coast. GWS showed up, bent over and handed over the lube to make it work for everyone else, and I salute them for it.
Yeah I think north have done well. What more can you hope for to get for a player that wants out than a similar pick + a future 1st on top. That’s a good deal.

Also west coast, despite people knocking them to get out of pick 2 and the private school vic boys and into hewett territory , whose not far behind, if at all those vic boys plus get another pick. That’s good for them.

Ports given up a lot, but the fact we get future 2nds and 3rds back helps a lot,

In the end rozee butters jhf Bergman sinn to look forward too in our midfield.

I really rate that group of players as a future midfield. High end young talent there.

Horne-Francis and Junior Rioli will join the Power, GWS will score North’s pick 1, the Kangaroos will receive picks 2, 3 and Port’s future first-rounder, and the Eagles get selections 8 and 12.
Did I read it wrong but we also end up with a teams future 1st?

We also have our 2023 1st rounder.

1 + 1 = 2

sorry my bad, i thought u meant in the trade. not counting your natural first rounder

so north said no to
JHF for ports 1st rd pick and future 1st rd and still having pick 1
to
losing JHF plus pick 1 for pick 2,3 and ports future 1st?

That means we traded pick 1 for pick 2 and an upgrade of pick 8 to 3?

Looks like he forgot to include Butters or Georgiades in his tweet? Whoopsie. Same mistake Twomey made. I'm sure he'll get that typo fixed up soon.

Not bad. Would have preferred to keep pick 1, but essentially turning JHF into pick 2 and 3 of this year's draft.

Yeah just thinking how much these next 2 drafts can help our future. Critical we get it right.

2 & 3 look like Sheezel and Wardlaw. Decent compo for losing JHF.

well turning pick 1 and JHF into pick 2 3 and a future first tied to port
And turning pick 1 into Ports future first?

Was more talking immediate outcomes. Assuming North doesn't have a miraculous recovery next year and shoot up the ladder, we should have a few decent draft hands coming up if this follows through.

Port get their man without giving up established talent as well, so hopefully it goes through.

Assuming you didn't want Cadman (which I figure is the case given the acceptance of trading pick 1) then you're still getting your first preference with pick 2 anyway, so you've basically turned JHF into your second preference in this draft and then gotten wherever Port's F1 next year ends up as a bonus. I think that's a pretty good outcome for both parties given the circumstances.

Hopefully no snags from here

Yep lets get it done and move onto the death ride thread!!

I just hope Hinkley is as bad as port posters are saying - with a softer draw and not starting 0-5 Port should play finals.

Ports won’t f you over for jhf . We will try to trade fair & nm can win if they draft wisely. Win win is possible

He's pretty shit. But we'll go for 17 straight wins straight through to the premiership when Joshy Carr takes over in round 10 and you'll end up with pick 18

The Ryan Daniels post above doesn't work unless Port are getting in an F2 and F3 though. Both coming from GWS maybe?
